LCD TV Prices May Be Slashed for the Holidays

Analysts expect prices to be slashed for Black Friday, and think the lower prices will last through next year. They expect the sweet spot to be smaller sets, such as 32-inchers, which currently cost around $600-$700 and could drop as low $350 for the holidays.
Manufacturers are hoping the low prices and impending digital television switchover will compel consumers to shop, but the unpredictability of the economy may keep even drastic price cuts from luring shoppers in. [From: USA Today]

I saw on http://www.cityskoop.com that Best Buy and Circuit city have sales going on now on HDTVs and other electronics. I'm sure all retailers will have big sales this thanksgiving

Excellent advice! I learned a lot about spending, SAVING and living a "richer" life from the book "How to Become Filthy Rich on Your Current Income" at www.how-to-become-rich.com. If people read books like this one they would be a lot smarter and have more money.

My best advice is first do not buy a 32 inch, get at least a 37, I regret not getting a 42.....I cannot go back to the "old" tv, and if you are a movie fanatic like myself you will fall in love with LCDs! Plasma has a bad aspect because of the glare depending if you have natural light in your house, or just keep the lights on, so for those of you perusing a major purchase, get the biggest you can afford! Just my advice, 32 with the flat panel is too small!

I am taking the "wait and see" attitude. I as well, appreciate the comments on this topic. (thanks Brad !).
I would probably not be satisfied with the 32" set. Remember your aspect changes. I know you cannot control it within reason. I just can't get over the picture quality of the HDTV sets. I currently have a very loaded Toshiba "entertainment series" tube type analog set and would be willing to purchase by this year if the price is right.
