How to Save Money on Your Monthly Tech Bills 4
Get Rid of Your Cable DVR
Tired of paying that extra $10 a month to your cable company for its glitchy DVR (or $129 a year for Tivo)? The good news is, you don't have to worry any more about making sure you recorded the latest episode of your favorite show (or making sure it doesn't get automatically erased). Now you can watch almost any show you want online now for free.
All the major networks (broadcast and cable), as well as video hubs such as Hulu, Joost, YouTube, and all the major portals (including our parent company AOL) offer high-quality streams of classic and current shows right on your desktop. We haven't watched an episode of '90210, 'The Hills,' and 'Lost' on TV for months!

my fiance and i don't have cable. We use an antennae to get free shows. Not much choice but we watch on youtube, hulu, streaming from netflix and dvds from them that cover the rest. Cable, sat, HDTV is a sham. Its just another way to milk us for money.

What is going on with monitoring for the talent? This is a good idea for the inventors, however there must be fair play. Performers and musicians must be fairly compensated! Not everything is FREE!

nbc offers full episodes on only a few of their shows. abc and cbs are more liberal with their choices, usa, tnt, fox offer full episodes on some, but not all, of their shows. getting rid of your dvr or tivo is insane.
