Misconceptions about LA. Interesting read, but kinda whiney. http://t.co/jEqHw3ts
The people responsible for this tremendous geographical oversight have been sacked.
In future years we will call this series "Gadget Guide for That Season that Happens in June."
I've just been informed by an offended commenter that, in some parts of the world, it isn't actually summer right now, but rather winter.

I went for a job interview. I read the company policy. I left the interview.
30 minutes later I got a call from the interviewer on my cell. I did not know who it was at first. He said are you driving? I said no.
He said good, you passed the final test. You got the job.

Remember the days when people didn't have such a lofty opinion of their perceived self-importance? One need not be at everyone else's beck and call 24/7. If no one answered the home phone (which was in the public living area attached by a cord) then guess what, no one was home. Duh!!!Call back later.
These days people think they are so important that they must be able to be reached at all hours. For what? You're not the President and it isn't the "red phone".
Nothing annoys me more than to see people coming in to an Intensive Care Unit to visit a loved one and having the phone ringing (usually some awful, obnoxious ringtone) and answering it, chatting, ignoring the one they came to visit. How RUDE!!!

Not all people is perfect at spelling. If you can't wear a bluetooth for when your driving YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE DRIVING. That is what causes people to Hurt someone very badly or Kill someone when your driving and NOT KEEPING YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD. You do not need to be driving while your holding your phone or dailing your phone while YOUR DRIVING ON THEE STREETS.

Soon these same idiots will think they need to receive fax copies and will claim to have the ability to do so because they have had their latest model cellphone rectally inserted.
Those who wander about gossiping on their cellphones generally appear to have little conciousness about their surroundings, and certainly have no manners. Which is obvious when they dither around and speak in such a loud voice that the person on the other end of their connection coulkd probably hear them from wherever the hell they are even if the cellphone was off.
The worthless crap they are relating should never be forced on the public in general, and no one in their vicinity wants to have such intrusive drivel voiced aloud anyway. Who cares about your personal affairs? You morons!
Those of you who actually have a truly important communication to make, thank you for holding a private and brief conversation and for being considerate of others.

My Two Cents:
1. Bluetooth is only annoying when you walk around in it constantly as if you are special because of it. Seriously. I don't care who you are, it looks so fragging stupid. You are likely not that important, or that pressed for holding your phone. Just stop thinking you look cool. It's just as bad as people who are addicted to their Crackberry.
2. There is a serious lack of Mac products on here. For overhype, there is nothing in this world like an Apple product, and I'm being honest.
3. I don't care who you are, if you have to make a call, just pull off the road. I'm a busy lady who loves her cell phone, and all her tech, but very rarely is anything dire enough to warrant talking while driving. It's stupid, foolish, dangerous, and against all common sense. Even with Bluetooth you're still distracted. Unless someone is dying or a kid's about to be born in the backseat, you can easily pull over and talk. If you're in that much of a hurry, you should have left earlier.

Yes, kindly stop flaming the people who might not be native-speakers of English. If you're out there trying to harass the idiots, there's one more than you thought.

The only two things on the list that I may disagree with slightly is the satellite radio and Ubuntu.
I like news, spoken word, etc and satellite radio delivers. They don't preempt my shows for local high-school sports. I don't have to listen to any bad local programming. Like I give a damn what happens here in Boise, ID. For music however, get a portable device. Music on satellite sounds like complete crap.
Ubuntu has never been a problem for me. After being forced to Windows Vista 64-BIT when I bought a new computer, I had no choice but to replace much software OR go to linux for free. Paranoid about spyware and viruses on Windows but never worrried on linux.
