I agree about it seeming like an infomercial product, but that's definitely not the best reason you could come up with why it's overrated. It is so because they built up all this hype around it and then would barely even allow people to get one. With all the time they waited to release more to stores where you don't have to overpay to get it after the first stock sold out fast, the average person would have lost interest. I barely got mine and spent quite a while looking for one for my sister's birthday (her birthday even passed and I was still looking), then finally gave up. Spending AT LEAST $130 on eBay wasn't worth it for something that really only costs $90 and, like you said, will eventually end up in an attic (or in her case, basement).
