World's Most Overrated Gadgets and Technologies 10

Electric Razor
The promise: The first electric razor was patented way back in 1928 by Jacob Schick, and only in the latter part of the twentieth century did the device become untethered from the wall with the addition of batteries. Without fail, new models come out every year claiming to offer a closer, easier shave than a razor blade.
Why It's overrated: Despite nearly 90 years of innovation (improved ergonomics, wet shave capabilities, multiple shaving heads) and prices that seem to inch up year after year, electric razors still aren't as effective at getting a clean shave as the trusty disposable wet razor. Although we admit that some people's skin is more receptive to electric razors than others, we've often had trouble with razor burn, and shaving with an electric after several days growth is always painful.
Bottom line: They may be great for getting a last-minute shave before rushing out the door and for keeping that manly beard perfectly groomed, but this is definitely a place where decades of hair removal innovation hasn't amounted to much.

I disagree with most of the top ten "overrated" technologies. I think that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology has made quantum leaps of difference in the use of PC's and laptop communications. I also think that the electric razor is a Godsend. I've used nothing but a Norelco razor for the past thirty years, and would not switch for any amount of "wet razors".
It really makes me wonder who wrote this article?! It have been written by someone living in a cave, using a tin can and wire as a phone.

I am guessing that this article was written by someone who was never told about William's "Lectric Shave." It sounds like the writer has been just using the razor "dry." Buy a bottle, try it and then write about the electric razor.
