World's Weirdest New Phones 8

Musical Instrument Phones
Yamaha and Japanese carrier Au collaborated on this surreal series of phones that double as musical instruments, some traditional (drum set, guitar, piano), some newfangled (playable "box," flat-panel trio). The above pictured prototype is supposed to be some sort of string instrument. Check out the gallery below for images some of the other phone-instrument hybrids.

??? Huh? I get that people are trying to be more modern, and that making those phones took a heck of a long time to make, but I just don't see the point.
They should spend all of that money for cancer awareness and help for a cure, not PHONES!

So much HIPE. Sell me a phone i can use. Make it big with a big screen and a larger keyboard, not a full qwerty, just 12 keys but big, the size of a desk phone keyboard! Because I have big fingers. and make it three inches by five inches and 3/8 inch thick so it fits a man's shirt pocket and is easy to find and hold. With a flip cover to protect the screen. And make the phone WATERPROOF! My son has left two tn his pocket and tossed them into the washing machine, and walked into a swimming pool with one in his pocket. All three were destroyed. But, a $7.50 sport watch with four buttons keeps working at up to 150 feet underwater! So why isn't a $200 phone waterproof? You have the technology. I want rounded corners, internal antenna, larger capacity battery, put the camera lens on the end, not on the flap, and include a couple of bright white LEDs next to the camera lens, flash them in silent mode so it gets my attention, even if I'm riding a motorcycle. And a function key setting to light them up as a flashlight to walk into a dark doorway, or find the contact lens you drop in the dark restaurant, or at the movies. Seriously, I want a tool, not a toy! A good LOUD alarm mode, and a calendar Ican put a reminder in and as soon as i select a specific date the reminder is shown on the screen with the calendar. I have had a Cell phone about 20 years, ever since the preliminary trials in Tampa in 1988. No one has ever given me what I want!

Phone/musical instrument? There is already an App for the iPhone that lets you "play instruments." In re: to all of the phone designs, it seems like talent wasted on something that consumers would never invest in.
