Approximately 40% Of Online Videos Are Porn or Advertising

The figure comes from comScore and Nielsen, both of which approximate the number of online videos on a monthly basis. The difference between the companies is that comScore counts porn and ads while Nielsen doesn't. In June, comScore said there were 10.8 billion unique video streams, while Nielsen reported 7.5 billion, a difference of 44-percent. That's why in Nielsen's system, YouTube has a 53-percent market share as opposed to only 39-percent in comScore's estimate.
Keep in mind that these figures aren't exact and, as we've shown before, the line between porn and advertising is blurrier than ever. There have certainly been enough beer commercials out there that can go either way. [From: Silicon Valley Insider]
