'Guitar Praise' Lets You Jam to Jesus

So it came as no surprise when we heard the people who thought 'Dance Dance Revolution' wasn't godly enough were releasing 'Guitar Praise: Solid Rock.' We're pretty sure you can guess what it is, but let us spell it out for you: 'Guitar Praise' is a 'Guitar Hero' clone, filled with (wait for it...) Christian rock tunes. Hallelujah!
As if 'Guitar Hero' wasn't frustrating enough before now you can try and jam along with songs from bands you've never heard of, like Skillet, Day of Fire, and Family Force 5.
$99.95 nets you the PC and Mac compatible game along with a plastic wireless guitar controller, and of course eternal salvation. [From: Boing Boing]

oh please, you can stop your talk of living gods and zombie saviors, if any of you have every read ANY other write ups on the site you'd know that it was meant to be humorous in tone rather than harmful. oh that's right, it's funny until someone picks on your particular brand of fairy tales.
pretty sure he meant to make light of the guitar hero clones and their usually sub-par quality. but please, don't let me get in the way or your cry-fest.

I'm excited to hear about this! I've been wondering why no one has come out with a Christian version of this game. I'd like to purchase it for our Youth group. I think they'll enjoy it, even though they most likely play the secular version of it most of the time at home or at their friends' houses. If this guy thinks we're crazy now; just wait until we all disappear with Jesus at the Rapture & he's left standing here saying, "Hey, where'd all those people go??" Truly, though, I hope he figures out the TRUTH before Jesus comes. Let all of us Christians replying to his irritating "ad" pray for him because that's what we're called to do.

Honestly, this review doesn't shock me at all. The writer is obviousely blind just like all of us were at one time or another. This even sounds like something I wrote once before I met Jesus face to face and was born again. The Bible tells us that the world will hate you because of Jesus. So when the "world" hates you just give thanks to God.

What an unbelieveably offensive review. I personally am a christian, and even though I have heard of all three of the bands this dude mentioned, I hear them on secular XM Radio channels daily, so more people have heard of these awesome bands than his narrow-minded review let you think. I tell you, if we (Christians) start bashing on something the liberal (secular) world does, oh man, watch out! But they can do the exact thing to us and it seems to be ok. I personally love the tunes of Skillet, Day of Fire, FF5. This Terrance dude needs to leave and never return this blog if he is going to bash the heck out of people who only want the best for everyone.
@CCKaren, I agree with you totally.

Matthew 5:39- But I tell you, don't stand up against an evil person. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other.

I'm a Christian, and I like Guitar Hero. There is a lot of bad Christian music out there, but there are quite a few artists who put out really good, original music. People don't know this because they don't listen to it and just assume that it's all crappy knock offs of secular songs with Jesus lyrics (some of it is!)
That being said, I have often wished that some of the Christian songs I listen to could be played on Guitar Hero or Rock Band. This effort is allowing people to do just that. While I won't be purchasing it, since it's not on the 360, and I have no idea what song choices will be in the game, I do appreciate the effort. What really needs to happen is for the record labels for the Christian artists to strike a deal with the makers of Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Doubt that will happen any time soon, although if the right songs are released, I think it could sell pretty well.

Britboy's comments are interesting, He critiques my grammar, which by the way was a typo, but shows his arrogance in addressing this subject. I am an English Lit major from UCI with a son who wants to be a drummer...and a Christian... Read the Bible..you might learn something other than arrogance.

I dunno, if you can thrash to some Living Sacrifice or Mortification that might be cool.

This is awsome. But I think that your reporters need to recheck the way they are talking about us Christians. We don't go and say, Those crazy atheist's. But still, it's awsome to finally have a guitar hero version of songs that don't talk about having sex with each other, or getting high and what-not.

I'm a born-again Christian and am not surprised by this review.
There are many believers who love sacrificially and unconditionally like Jesus loved but overall we have a deserved reputation as being judgmental and overall jerks.
For those who don't believe like I do, I apologize on behalf of those who have judged and hurt you in the past...
If you believe like I do, stop complaining about being offended. At least you're not getting thrown to the lions... And even those who did in the past get thrown to the lions, did not complain... Remember that.
