The selective deletion of unwanted parts of a tattoo would require some artistry and precision, neither of which is in the job description. In addition, as has been noted repeatedly, tattooed skin and skin where a tattoo has been removed are never really quite the same. Tattooing around the region of a removal may or may not produce acceptable results. Should you come to the eventuality someday that you desire a change in or a removal of your tattoo, consider your options just as carefully as you might consider a tattoo in the first place, if you could start all over again

How much of the tattoo gets removed depends on so many different factors: size, location, ability to heal, how the tattoo was applied (amateur or professional) and how long ago it was done. Because there are potentially hundreds of different types of tattoo inks out there, and because we never seem to know which ink was being used, it's hard to know if it can be removed.
