We once had blockbuster home delivery but they got rid of our plan and wouldn't "grandfather" us in, so we left. We love REDBOX. The videos are only $1.00 a night and they give out free codes Monday and Wednesday's each week now. No membership fee's and no hidden charges. You get billed no more than $1.00 unless you do not return the Dvd before 9 PM. If you return the dvd after 9:00 PM per the REDBOX location, you will be charged for another nights rental. You can also go online and reserve your movies before you go to the REDBOX location to pick them up, which is a plus. They are new releases, not the old movies. You can search for a location near you at redbox.com

Cheri

Comments on

I received this message and received my movies the next day.

to1206

Comments on

do you think because you live closer you should get them faster? lol

sheldonwin

Comments on

I live within 30 minutes of nearest center and they haven't sent anything this week.

Ed Anderson

Comments on

This is why you should be using Blockbuster Video!! Not to mention when I want a blu-ray movie, I have to chose the blu-ray option with each movie, which means I have to search & see if each movie is available in blu-ray. Blockbuster is a much superior service! I don't know why anyone would use Netflix. I actually tried Netflix first. I hated waiting for more movies once I sent them in. It always took about 3 days to get movies back. I LOVE that I can go to a Blockbuster, turn in my movies for new movies at the store, and they will STILL send me new movies from my que when they receive the movies I turned in at the store. I get more movies for my money. Plus they send me two free movie rental coupons every month. I pay the EXACT SAME PRICE that I did with Netflix for a MUCH better service. I have Blockbusters on the way to everything I do, so I really don't have to go out of my way to go to one. For anyone complaining about late fees--you have at least 10 days to get the movies back to the store BEFORE they charge you for the movie. Is it THAT hard to watch and return a movie in 10 days?! And then you have 7 more days to return it and they only charge you a $1.50. Big deal! Blockbuster blows Netflix away!!!!!

Suz

Comments on

Um, no, it really isn't. Blockbuster doesn't have nearly the library Netflix does, and if you had done research before signing up, you'd know that. And, since Blockbuster is swiftly reaching bankruptcy, and closing down hundreds of locations, your whole point about running down to the local store is moot. My closest blockbuster is 30 minutes away and I live right outside of Boston, an area that should be teaming with them. Thirty minute drives are not convenient I am extremely sick of Netflix's BS though.

Has anyone else been throttled?

stu

Comments on

They closed our area Blockbuster stores, so they're no better than Netflix.

TGIF

Comments on

I would love to agree with you when you state that there is a blockbuster within 15 minutes of most people. If that were the case that's where I would most likely be getting my movies, unless of course there was a Redbox close by. The part of Wyoming I live in, I believe the closest blockbuster is about 2 hours away. I've tried Blockbuster.com and Netflix.com and have thoroughly enjoyed then both with an exception of this matter. You figure for a new release movie for one night at $4.20, Blockbuster.com or Netflix.com have already paid for themselves within the first week of every month.

rebecca

Comments on

some of us live in the country & can't even get a pizza delivered. Just curious. I do with Netflix with no extra charge...........

You claim that "most" people live within 15 minutes of a blockbuster. Well, I'm actually more like 20 minutes, that's 20 miles at $3.37/gallon for gas, my time and oh those every smiling blockbuster employees (NOT!)
My Netflix plan is $16.99 for 3 movies at a time. I watch them & return them immediately, which means I get at least 3 movies/week, which comes to $1.41 each. Actually, last month I rented 19 movies for just $16.99 which comes to...... drum roll please..... just .89 cents!!!! : ~ ) What's the fee at blockbuster again, huh? $4.50 + tax something like $4,99 each which in reality is $5.00 each................... Some of us have the patience to wait a day or 2 (at the most) for the mail!!!!!!!
Again, I rented 19 movies, yes 19 in July for just $16.99 ~ no gas, no postage, just a stroll to the mailbox ~ and don't forget it came to ............... .89 cents per movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Your face!
I'll put my savings in my gas tank, thank you very much for when I do HAVE to drive. think of the environment, drive less!

Tammy Hengst

Comments on

Well, the drawback to BlockBuster's DVD-by-mail program is that, to turn them in at a store, the store must be owned by BlockBuster Corporate.
