Mac vs. PC 9

Gaming
We touched on this one briefly in the previous slide, but in terms of gaming, the PC is the clear winner. Every major gaming hit, from the 'Unreal Tournament' and 'Quake' series to 'Age of Empires' and 'Command and Conquer,' comes out for the PC first. And most PC games never come out for the Mac at all. Still, it's not all bad if you're a Mac owner – companies such as Aspyr and EA are actively putting out Mac versions of such hits as 'Call of Duty' and 'Homeworld 2,' and almost all Web-based Flash games are cross-platform, so they'll work on both Macs and PCs. Also, onscreen action and graphics tend to be a lot more detailed and smooth on a PC, especially when you install a high-performance graphics card!

But if I switch to Mac, I think I will lose everything I have written with MS Word for the PC. Right?

You can use both. +4pc 64-bit vista which is now the standard in most all computers today. Dell for one has gone from 5% to 95% 64-bit. 64-bit means no virus'

Donald... MS Office for Mac will understand all MS Office files you wrote on PC... so no, you won't lose everything... Plus, if you go to www.gametreeonline.com you can find an increasingly good mix of AA and AAA video games for Mac.

No, you wont lose those files. You can get Microsoft Office for Mac, or even use OpenOffice (which is a free, microsoft compatible program) and use those word files just like windows. Cross platform compatibility is better than ever.
And like another poster said before, your new Mac can run Windoze too! It can easily run both operating systems at the same time.
the only reason to buy a windoze machine is
1) economy- a false economy I might add, after buying all the virus, spyware and malware protection, as well as repair cost, time lost due to incompatibilities of programs and hardware, and a general feeling of malice about the whole "I bought the cheapest computer you can get at Wal-Mart", you iwll want something better and then go out and spend more money to get a faster version of this poorly executed POC.
2) your a hard core gamer. If so, your not even reading this article, are you? You buy a machine for one purpose only, GAMES- much like an X-Box or PS3. You dont care about the brand or the OS or names, you just want to frag your buddies faster than they can frag you.

A year ago my laptop was stolen from a hotel. Based on the experience of my friends I replaced it with a Mac, especially since it could run both Windows and Mac stuff.
I mostly hate my Mac. The dual platform is a joke. I don't even try to use it any more. The MS programs, Word, Excel etc loose much of their functionality in Mac. Expensibles for Mac is a disaster. True Mac is better in graphics, slide shows etc, but for my use it was a terrible experience. I have gone back to a PC. Some features of Mac I love. Now I have a Mac laptop, a pc laptop side by side on my desk. I have an unused 8 month old Mac desktop also.
Most people who have switched to MAC LOVE it. That has not been my experience.
