Mac vs. PC 8

Security
Though Mac fanatics will tell you otherwise, the only thing keeping the Mac virus-free beyond a slightly more closed operating system is security-through-obscurity. In other words, hackers haven't targeted Macs because there just weren't that many of them compared to PCs. Apple/Mac still only has 3.5% of the worldwide computer market (with the rest mostly going to Windows-based PCs), so, presumably, there wasn't that much notoriety for hackers to go after Macs.
Recent reports, however, have suggested that this trend is reversing. After all, popularity breeds contempt, and Macs (and iPods and iPhones) have certainly become the belles of the ball over the past five years. That said, PCs still bear the brunt of the world's computer viruses, so you may want to consider getting a Mac if you plan on using it for the whole e-mail-attachment-opening-family.

the new macs can operate on both mac OS X platform and windows platforms which makes it even better than PC.

And you can emulate OS X on a PC.
If OS X is so great and simple to use why would mac even want to give their elite os X users the opportunity to use a Windows based OS?
No matter what you say about bill and the microsoft pack... they dont give a service pack a cute animal name and sell it to you! what is leopard if not a service pack to fix issues with the previous os?
There is a reason why the whole bootcamp thing was created unless you are an artist or musician or a movie director/videoographer the software options are kinda' thin and expensive.
and why be tied down to not having choices? there is software created for those that maybe are just beginnig to intermediate to expert I doubt publishing houses use I photo to edit photographs for magazine and book covers.

Subject: Fwd: SNOPES HAS CONFIRMED - BIG VIRUS COMING !!! PLEASE READ & FORWARD !!!
Hi All, This has been checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!
Snopes URL: http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/postcard.asp
was also checked and it is for real!! Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.
You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason
why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.
If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by
Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.
COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US
Snopes lists all the names it could come in.

You took a whole paragraph to say:
Windows gets viruses and malware and spyware
Macs don't.
What you did say was the same nonsense that everyone always says. If you say it enough it must be true.
"Macs don't get viruses because of low market share, so hackers ignore Mac. But that will all be changing soon. Apple is a victim of its own popularity"
This is just a sour grapes theory that has no point of repeating and repeating and repeating. Just stick to the facts sir.
