Mac vs. PC 4

Performance
Sure, you can read the endless benchmark tests that compare the boot-up speed of Windows-based PCs versus Macs, but if you've ever tried either a Mac or a PC, you'll know that Macs start-up considerably faster. This is partly due to the Mac operating system being optimized for the Mac-made hardware (versus Windows, which is designed to run with a wide variety of components and hardware from different manufacturers, resulting in time-consuming equipment checks during start-up). And within Windows itself, Windows XP tends to be faster than Windows Vista, at least according to most benchmark tests (and our own anecdotal experience).
Once up and running, however, speed, stability and multi-tasking on a computer really depend on a number of factors, from how many programs (and what type) you have running to how much RAM you have installed – a souped up gaming or desktop-replacement PC may well (on paper and most likely speed tests) outperform a top-of-the-line Mac Pro, both processing-wise and price-wise.

After ten years with Windows and this new Vista, I will go to a Mac
the next time. I pay good money for Windows and get a counterfit product
and I'm tired of it. And Dell don't even send an owner's manual with their
computers any more, what a rip off. Robert Gifford.

Really?! Maybe in some cases but not all.
A friend of ours has spent literally thousands building and souping up a PC for gaming and it still freezes more often than he'd like to admit. I hate PC's. They are for people, like our friend, who have no life or job outside of IT so then they have the hours to mess with learning the stupid machine on a regular basis.

did he download the right drivers (presumably he downloaded 32bit instead of 64bit.)

I believe that a mac woud start up faster like if you had an iPod such as any generation such as the 5th generation iPod if you started it up it would turn on fast no loadeing for crap. Like the Windows XP it would turn on fast show the welcome screen fast but when it shows the wallpaper before you use the computer you have to wait for it to load the taskbar then the desktop programs and when you think its done loading the background programs you hit start then all programs then you have to wait again to show everything you have on the computer it will drive you ensaine.
