'Generation Kill' Dreamboat Kellan Lutz Talks Cell Phones
What gadgets do you always bring with you to the set?
I really do love having my toys to occupy my time between scenes. I usually will bring my Playstation PSP to play EA sports games and other adventure games. I'm playing the new 'God of War' which has the right amount of action to get lost in. I also have a video mp3 player which I use to watch 'South Park' episodes, and movies as well as listen to music.
What cell phone do you have right now and what do you love/hate about it?
I just recently gave up my favorite phone the Palm Treo for a Samsung Instinct. I love touch screen phones as it gives me the right amount of control over a simple phone. I use my phone for everything from scheduling my life to listening to music, so it's more than just a phone. My new Instinct is cool because it has GPS, a full touch screen, and I can check my email when on set, but I would love to see how it stacks up to the new iPhone 3G. So I might just have to get one of those and pick the better of the two to keep. I really do miss the Treo's keyboard though. I got so good using the keyboard while driving to the point where I could text paragraphs without ever looking down. I loved being able to feel the keys. Also I just found out that the Instinct does not have PDF capability so I cannot read my scripts and sides on my phone anymore but it's worth everything--my "Instinct" is to keep it.
Who's the last person you sent a text message to and what was it about?
I sent a text to my brother, we talk all day long. I think I texted him asking him to buy tickets to see 'The Dark Knight' in IMAX. I can't wait to see this movie; I hear Heath Ledger could be up for an Oscar for his role as the Joker...I think it's going to be that good!
Where do you go (site or service) pretty much every time you get online?
AOL, it's always been my email service and AOL's front page news has always been interesting to read while on set. I can access the site right from my phone which makes life mobile.
What annoys you most about your iPod, cell phone, or laptop?
The battery is something that bugs me the most on gadgets today. I hate when my gadgets die when I try to use them and there isn't a plug in sight.
Name one thing you wish your iPod/cellphone/laptop could do that it doesn't do now?
I have a Microsoft Zune and an Ipod, and both work very differently. I wish my Ipod had a larger screen, I hear I should look at the new Ipods. I do like my Zune however I wish there were more accessories to play it with.
What upcoming gadget can you not wait to get your hands on?
I would love to play around with the new iPhone. I hear they've upgraded the Internet and a lot of the other features. I have the new Samsung Instinct however I would personally really like to see which one I like more, see which one fits my lifestyle.
You're stranded on a desert island: What gadget do you bring?
If I could only have one gadget it would be my Microsoft Zune. That little thing is amazing! It's 80g so it can hold everything. I have all of my music, my pictures, tons of 'South Park' episodes/movies and I can even download my favorite 'Strong-Bad' podcasts. The battery life is great so I think it can keep me company while on a desert island.
What's the most-played song or artist on your iPod?
I like motivational music in the gym, so I have tons of 50 Cent and Eminem on my Zune. There is nothing like exercising to the beat so I would have to say those two are probably played the most.
BlackBerry, Sidekick, or Treo?
Treo! I love touch screens and it's too bad I had to upgrade. The Treo organized my life and had a full keyboard. I hope they come out with a new Treo, I really would like to have one in the future.
Are you getting an iPhone?
I would love to get an iPhone. I hear the new iPhone 3G is pretty slick. I like watching the funny videos on YouTube and the iPhone is perfect for watching videos. It's also has room for tons of music which would make me very interested in switching.
What's the longest time you've ever spent playing a video game in one sitting and what game was it?
I love the Nintendo Wii! 'Wii Sports' is perfect for parties since everyone can play. My brother and I played a 2 hour tennis game once. We are pretty evenly matched so it kept going back and forth. I naturally won but it was so much fun because it feels like you're actually playing tennis. When we were done, we were dripping with sweat. I hope Nintendo comes out with more games like this, I would love to get my hands on them.
Mac or PC?
I have a PC, there have been times when I have wanted to switch to Mac but there are so many cool games and programs on PC that it's too hard to switch. I love the 'Command and Conquer' games, I hear that a lot of them are finally being released on Mac...might be a great time to switch!!!
What's the biggest lie you've read about yourself on the Web?
Umm hmm not sure, probably something like how I was dating Paris Hilton or something, and boy was that news to me... haha I was like hmmm where was I at when we were dating???
What's the most embarrassing place your cell phone has gone off?
At church during a baptism and at the time my ringer was "I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE!!!" [from Sir Mix-a Lot's 'Baby Got Back'] The volume was on high and I couldn't get my password to work for the phone for a good 15 seconds to turn the ringer off. Talk about embarrassing!!! Wow that just made me smile again.
Do you have HDTV, and, if so, what are your favorite things to watch in HD?
SPORTS! It's almost football season and I can't wait to watch the hard hits in HD. I am also a Phoenix Suns fan and watching the playoffs this season in HD was fun. Too bad they didn't make it as far as I'd hoped.
Are you on Facebook, MySpace, or another online social network? If so, what's your favorite thing to do on Facebook/MySpace, etc?
I think I set up accounts for both of those things years ago but I haven't accessed them in a few years, and honestly I don't even remember the screen names or passwords for them, I just don't spend that much time on computers at home and those sites are a bit hard to use on my phone. I loved them both when I used them, such a great way to stay connected with friends and family!
