Garmin is the brand I own. Its user interface it very easy to navigate, however, I have to be very inventive on getting the thing to figure out the address sometimes. It is very quick at recalculating a route, but when you need a detour it just simply gives you a route around the point you are at now rather than a whole new option.

Magellan has better features such as quick spell for road names. My friend owns this one and says it is very good, however, it is not as fast as mine is at recalculating a route when you miss a turn. It can give you multiple Detour optins though.
