Thankfully, we won't be around to witness the phasing out of Hair Jordan and the iPhone, but the idea for the fingernail watch is already on the table. And who is behind it but Timex, the company that manufactured our wristwatches in the '90s. For big T's 150 year anniversary, the watchmaker joined forces with design site Core77 to announce an Orwellian competition entitled 'Timex 2154: The Future of Time."
The competition's runner-up concept watch, the TX54 evolved from press-on nails and contact lenses, like birds from dinosaurs. Humanoids wear it on their thumbnails, and can activate glow-in-the-dark features by touching the nail-tip. It's disposable, and available in an array of colors.

2156 will be in a period of earth history BEYOND our current concepts of time. the press on nail watch should be availible in about 2 years. in 2020 robot police will be patroling the world or fighting wars with other robot armies. in 2056, thats 100 years before 2156, not only will cell phones be implanted in our brains which will give us instant communication, but we will have brain like interfaces with those phones to give each of us telepathic like communication. if we are not careful, demagogues will be able to take over our brains and turn us into zombie hordes. in 2156 we will be already in a post fusion phase of a version of mind melding with other humans, and synthetice life forms on a massive scale. death will likely be no longer a factor as immortality will be essentially achieved. we will probably be spread out well throught our galaxy. the earth will be transformed into a latticework of structures that extend right into orbit from the ground.
by 2056 genetic damage will be removed and designer dna will be chosen for our progeny. albert einstein brains with Brad Pitt looks with Shaquille Oneille Strength and Michael Jordan Agility. Thats just the appetizer. Humanity will split out from human packaging and essentially we will be able to take on bird like bodies if we want to fly. possibly we might be able to move from body to body. thats a certainty in 2156. In 2156 I will be 199 years old.
