Alas at about 2.5W, I don't think USB can provide enough power for this sort of application.

Not practical, as the power available from the USB port, (about 5 watts) is too little to make much difference in temperature of a typical 10 ounce or so drink!--If 30 watts or more were available, maybe they would have something worthwhile!-Bob
