51 Places You're Not Supposed to See on Google Maps

Governments have had military installations removed, residents have had homes and entire towns cleared from the site, and sites of a sensitive nature (such as nuclear power stations) are missing for security reasons. Even some colleges such as MIT and SUNY Stonybrook are blurred out to obscure the location of research laboratories. There are some odd entries as well, such as the Playland Amusement Park in Rye, NY and the the city of Utrecht in the Netherlands.
All told, the site IT Security has found 51 separate instances of locations being removed from Google Maps and Google Earth. You'll find the full list after the break. [Source: IT Security]

In relation to Area 51 - the gov't lets you see it only because it's the
'secret classified' location the gov't WANTS you to see & focus on - to take your minds off REAL locations where they DO conduct the stuff you idiots think are being conducted at Area 51! It's a front!!!

Dont know about the rest of the list but the White House and Capitol building are still VERY CLEARLY shown in Google Earth as of an hour ago.

Now "hiding" Playland Amusement Park in Rye, New York is funny!!!! I can see if it was still the "Hidden Secret" it was back in the 50's and 60's when it was "THE" amusement park to attend as they kept the grounds meticulous. But now......heck it is as filthy and crime ridden as Great Adventure in New Jersey. It's pretty sad when even approx. 20 years ago an Amusement Park (Great Adventure) had to install "Metal Detectors" as the kids were bringing in Guns & Knives.

@Sahne
Rye is by the water! It's on the Long island sound! I go there all the time, it's got a beach, boardwalk, everything.

Playland is also known as Rye Beach.. It is NOT upstate, it is right on Long Island Sound, between CT and NYC. The park was very recognizable in those scenes in the movie.
