The 10 Most Stubborn People in Tech 6

Reggie Fils-Aimé

When Nintendo's new president announced "I'm about kickin' ass, I'm about takin' names, and we're about makin' games" to a crowd of gamers, people knew they were in for something different. By sticking to the idea that the Wii could succeed with its unique motion-sensitive controls while the PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 beefed up graphics but not much game-wise, Fils-Aimé helped bring back Nintendo from its third-place ranking. He's credited with reshaping the company's image among people in the US, believing that the Wii appealed to gamers and non-gamers alike with its simple and interactive controls. While designer Shigeru Miyamoto and the Japanese heads of Nintendo were responsible for the Wii's excellence (and innovative design), it was Reggie's legwork that convinced us we really would like to play.
