How To Impress The Kids at the July 4 Barbeque 2

You may have heard about Twitter in passing, but kids these days seem to be going crazy for the social-networking site/service. It's not really a blog, nor is it instant messaging (IM) in any traditional sense, but, like both, it takes full advantage of the Web to rapidly distribute the mundane details of everyday life ("I'm jittery from too much coffee,"I'm eating ice cream"). Twitter offers extremely basic friend options and gives you 140 characters per 'tweet,' which function much like status updates. You can send and receive on the Web, phone or via IM. Potted plants and The Mars Lander are already twittering, so don't get too cocky when you mention your latest tweet.
