United Airlines Adds (Limited) iPod and iPhone Connectivity

Proving that while you can't teach an old dog new tricks, you can give a dinosaur new-ish technology, United Airlines has announced that it would become the first American airline to offer in-flight iPod and iPhone connectivity.
Starting on Monday, the carrier started offering the service as part of its in-flight entertainment system (on certain flights). When available, passengers are now able to charge and connect their devices to the plane's glorious 15.4-inch personal television sets.
"Our guests may now watch or listen to what they want, when they want with programming they choose," United's executive vice president and chief customer officer Graham Atkinson said in a statement. "United will continue to provide services and technology that makes our customers' travel experiences more relaxed and enjoyable."
All of which should serve to make the company's perpetual flight delays and cancellations suck roughly 3% less than before. [Source: Textually]
