Father's Day: FujiFilm S100FS

Fuji's S100FS digicam is something of a "faux digital SLR" -- rather than giving you the DSLR options of multiple lenses, the S100FS gives you a similarly hefty, full-size camera with a fixed-lens that has much more built-in flexibility. The wide dynamic range (read: color depth) makes it great for nature photography, as does the insane zoom range: it goes all the way from genuinely wide-angle to super-telephoto (28mm - 400mm). This gives Dad tons room to experiment and grab shots, whether the subject is right in his face or waaaaay off in the distance (with no need to stop and change lenses). And in terms of sharpness, the lens is excellent through most of its range.
