It was simply inevitable: someone was going to lay the iPhone and BlackBerry Bold down beside one another, and if John Mayer won't stop sending himself emails long enough to do it, CrackBerry's sister site will. There's really nothing here that you couldn't put together yourself from checking out galleries and videos of each device separately, but feel free to humor your sick mind by glancing over the comparative images in the read link below or examining the vid waiting after the jump. I love the side by side commentary! I have an iPhone so I am partial to it. It appears even more revolutionary the other phones because it involves total touch screen usage vs. trying to roll around a stationary mouse, there are some drawbacks. It seems to have varying degrees of battery life, and unfortunately mine has a short one at that, about one day's worth and then it repeatedly shows a dimly flashing battery with a thin line (the battery died). It also is hard to hear phone voice transmissions in public so putting it on speakerphone can help but then again drains the battery even faster. Apple is reluctant to repair this problem which adds the frustration. This is my third iPhone too because the previous ones literally blanked out in mid-use or the virtual keyboard would not work properly. Apple needs to get these bugs out. Otherwise, the technology is cutting edge if you can forgive the shortcomings which arise along with it.
One more thing...Apple products have a reliability/quality problem. Has this appeared on anyone else's radar? They are saved by the fact that their service is usually pretty good (if you ignore the iPod battery catastrophe), but in the rush to have new cool products out there they release products which crack, fail, hang up etc. This could be a real problem if the tide of Apple popularity ever turns. I guess for now people forgive these things in the trade off for having really cool new stuff, especially if they intend to replace it with next year's model anyway. Planned obsolence?
