Cell Phone Use By Pregnant Moms May Adversely Affect Kids

Could pregnant women who use cell phones be unknowingly causing adverse effects in the brain function of their children?
According to a new study conducted by American and Danish researchers, the answer could well be yes.
Children whose mothers frequently used cell phones while pregnant were more likely to have problems with hyperactivity and social situations. Additionally, if the kids themselves were using cell phones before the age of seven, the problems were even more severe.
This is not the first time a study suggests there are adverse affects from using cell phones. This study, however, may have greater impact because one of the researchers -- UCLA Professor Leeka Kheifets -- has previously been skeptical of the effects of cell phone use on people's brains. This new study has enough evidence to change her mind.
The researchers asked the mothers of 13,159 children born in Denmark in the late 1990s about their use – and their kids' use – of cell phones. The time period is significant because cell phones were not yet in wide use so only about half of the mothers and their kids used them regularly. This allowed comparisons to be made.
The researchers do note that if they follow guidelines set by the official Russian radiation watchdog body, cell phone use by pregnant women and children is "not much lower than the risk to children's health from tobacco or alcohol."
Yikes.
As with any study, the authors of the report, which will appear in the July issue of Epidemiology, suggest more research is necessary. [Source: The Independent via Textually]

Has anyone considered that perhaps it is not the cell phone causing the issues but the fact that Mothers that spend much time talking on the cell phones are not spending as much time interacting with their children during the early formative years? Because, I doubt that the mothers they questioned stopped their cell phone use when the children were born. The story does state that this study was done before cell phones were common. Therefore, these mothers must have had lifesyles that afforded them the opportunity to own one.

When Cell phones first came into existence, it was reported that because of the high concentration radiation required to receive the signal in such a small divice that holding a cell phone up to the head caused brain damage.
At this time some manufacturers started to produce a sheild in attempt to block this effect by placing the cell phone inside the device.
Is this still the case? Why did this eventually fade out of the media? Why arent there billboards and public stations still producing information to the word about the true effects of cell phones use in all people?
Why aren't governments and world Scientist taking a more productive approach to getting this health related issue to all societies of people?
Is it a fact that our Health and Problems relating to the use of Cell Phones and other radiation producing or radiation use in regular commonly used device, being undermined by industry and government regulators who see the profits, in terms of money and greed/need, to be more important the health of people.

Ted Kennedy has a brain tumor on the left side behind his ear.
Question: Is he left handed? If so perhaps there is a relationship between the use of a cell phone and his tumor.
Ask Johnnie Cochrane`s daughter who says the cell phone killed her father and a neuro surgeon in los Angeles confirmed the tumor was behind his ear where he held the cell phone and the cell phone contributed to his death.
