I have to say that I am not experienced at all at taking pictures and I did learn alot. I don't have a fancy camera and with a large family I count on either my old 35 mm point and shoot or just a disposable. Does anyone have any advice if I were to by another camera on a limited income, which would take a better picture? Great article! Thank you!

Sandy

Comments on Eight Ways to Look Better in Pictures

Sandy, I love the 35 mm Minolta camera that I have. I also have a bounce flash. I actually took a basic photography class at a local college and really enjoyed the class. I learned a lot about how to use the camera and take good pics. They are so simple to use and take suprisingly wonderful pictures. I suggest them to people who either are new to the digital photo world or who just want something simple. And don't let the salesman fool you. Yes more pixels are better, but if you aren't going to be blowing up the pic past an 8X10 then six megs is more than sufficent.Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me any more questions if you like.

webstertruckers

Comments on Eight Ways to Look Better in Pictures

Thank you for some helpful and timely tips that use photos that the average person can compare their photos too! They can also realize that small steps in improving pictures makes a big difference, and feel good about the photos they take, making them more likely to take more photos which preserve more memories. I wish I had more pictures of some people who have shuffled off this mortal coil, they felt they didnt take good pictures, so they would not allow for people to take pictures of them.

I have been working with one of the programs you mentioned and the complication of that program is vast. They have people making livings helping others through the tutorials! ... These are helpful tips and hints the average person can grasp most easily ... and even the above average photo shooter can pick up a new technique to try.. GREAT JOB! Another suggestion is to use the Auto Enhance in your program this works really well for those who are just taking snapshots.
I must say I was disappointed in the article. I think it was misleading as these are mostly tips to correct a potential snapshot instead of how to take the preventive measures so you don't have to "fix" the photo...
I have one other suggestion. If the colour is bunk, then turn it B&W. It works wonders for people and makes their features just pop.

Creative Images

Comments on Eight Ways to Look Better in Pictures

ELIZABETH, I WAS ALWAYS TOLD TO FIX MY EYES ON SOMETHING OTHER THEN THE CAMERA, MAYBE A LITTLE TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT OF CAMERA.
