Six Ways to Break Up Over Your Computer or Cell Phone

5. Send a text that says "Me & U R Thru"
Texting has become one of the more convenient ways to contact somebody, so it's not shocking that some people would use it to end a fling. The trend isn't limited to high school students, either, as it's been a tactic used by celebs as well. In 2006, Britney Spears texted husband Kevin Federline that she wanted a divorce, which was captured on video. We all know how that worked out. More recently, 'Gossip Girl' actor Chace Crawford and singer Carrie Underwood broke up "mutually" via text. And they say famous people aren't shallow.

"In 2006, Britney Spears texted husband Kevin Federline that she wanted a divorce"
This is not true. Please get your facts right. K-Fed received a text that Britney had FILED for (as opposed to merely "wanted") a divorce. It was never confirmed that Britney herself sent the text - it was more likely his lawyer who texted him.
