Eight Best Techie Marriage Proposals

More Proof That Bloggers Are Geniuses – and Nerds

Valentine's Day might be a hackneyed holiday for proposals, but for Slashdot founder Rob Malda, aka CmdrTaco, it was a day to try something different. In 2002, Malda put up a post meant for his girlfriend, filed from the "typed-with-one-pair-of-sweating-palms dept," in which he asked her to marry him in what he called the "most potentially embarrassing way possible." This is the e-mail response he got fifteen minutes later from her: "Subj: "Yes," message body: "Dork. You made me cry. :)." In an even more romantic ending, they were wed in Vegas.
