Years ago hearing this I would of called you an idiot. But I've been down a road that I thought I would never be down. You married an asshole, and now he wants to destroy you. Do you know the going rate for a studio apartment in New York City, let alone a house??? We are talking High hundreds of thousands. I have no sound on my computer, so I do not know the "specifics" but have only heard about this case. I am a woman and a mother tho, who has been treated unfairly (to say the least) by the judicial system and my ex as well. When I told him to leave for the millionth time because he was verbally abusive and bi polar, he took everything from me. Because he knows how to "work" the system, and can "appear" charming in public when he has to, apparently everyone believes the lies he tells. I went to 14 marriage counselors with him over a 20 year period, all of whom told me this will end in divorce, but I hung in there for my son and started to work to get away from him. In the end, they held that against me, imputed me income I never earned, believed his lies about his business going under, and gave me 5 yrs alimony when I am 54 YO after a 22 year marriage. This all depends upon who you know, how good a liar you are, and how much money you have for a lawyer, not at all on the truth. I was too honest and trusting, stayed too long and didn't keep good records, and the lawyers made it "all about" money, but to me, it was my integrity, but the court doesn't care about that! Sometimes you have to go public when the system does not work, and it doesn't, alot!! Bravo for any woman who stands up for herself when caught in this maze of corruption, power, lies!!
