Man Proposes Via 'Bejeweled' Video Game

Bejeweled Wedding Proposal Nets Video Game Favors

When gaming geek Bernie Peng proposed to his wife last month, he didn't do the traditional fancy night out or anything like that. Oh no, he drew on his digital skills and his girlfriend's addiction to the game 'Bejeweled' to create a custom version of the game that displayed a ring on the screen when she reached a set score, showing his digital intentions.

It seems we weren't the only ones impressed by Bernie's stunt, as PopCap Games, the company behind 'Bejeweled,' has pledged to provide copies of the game as favors at the reception after Bernie and his wife-to-be Tammy tie the knot.

Beyond that it seems Bernie has started a bit of a trend, with another gamer, Brian Klima, using the level designer feature of 'Super Smash Bros. Brawl' to spell out "Marry Me?" on the screen in blocks. Congratulations to all, but something tells us the future in-laws won't be particularly impressed with these digital pledges of never-ending love. [Source: Engadget and CNN, via Pocket-lint]
