Drunk Newlyweds Tasered and Jailed

Ah, wedding night. A magical evening filled with frivolity and passion, and, evidently, non-lethal electrocution via taser.
Sigh.
A Vallejo, California couple was thrown in jail on their wedding night after a house party was repeatedly broken up by police. Neighbors reported hearing loud music late into the night and the party eventually headed outside.
The groom, evidently overjoyed by the prospect of everlasting marital bliss, became a bit too animated for police. He was treated to a healthy dose of electrical current after he stripped off his shirt and advanced toward officers with balled up fists. He got tasered. On his wedding night. Well played, sir.
Not to be outdone, the bride was also arrested for public intoxication. Both of them spent the evening in Solano County Jail.
We are aware that the economy is not at its strongest right now, but seriously, wasn't there an easier way to score a cheap room for the night? Here's hoping the rest of their lives go more smoothly than the first 24 hours of their marriage.

To all of you "stand-up types" who back the cops no matter what, I say when they shove that taser up your posterior, you will do a 180
so fast that you may get whiplash. The vast majority of cops that I've seen are no more than control freaks and thugs. Reason is
whatever they want it to be at the time and if you catch them in a bad mood, God help you. They have their own little street gang with
its own little book of rules (no Alice, I don't mean the "Laws", I mean their own little code which had nothing to do with the laws that
we are supposed to live by.) They have their own secret codes and usually the same honor found in the common pit viper. They were
misfits in school that went on to be military misfits who went on to be police. Not all are like this, but there are plenty that are. I
think the taser has become the "remote control" of the more lazy ones. If your shift is over soon and the person doesn't follow your
control immediately, then just taser him and pack him off to the station. As for them "putting themselves o the line", most of the time they don't do anything more dangerous than any of the rest of us. The vast majority don't fire a gun anywhere else but the range. I'd be surprised if the exchange of gunfire happens more than 5% of their entire career.

The cops should have used the old maglite.Nobody seems to bitch about someone getting hit with that , only when some a**hole gets tased do the idiots become restless.
Abide by the law and it gets easier.
I also would like for you trailer parkers to please use spell check.

We are gradually losing all our civil liberties. Unreasonable searches and seizures, you name it. In 20 years this Constitution will just be an old pice of paper. Soon we'll be just like China or Russia. Big Brother is alive and well.
Be careful kids, the beast is out and he's hungry.

This is just one more case of Taser happy cops. Come on now, lets lock up the tasers and use words, (for you cops that means talk to the people instead of tasering them. ) Let's face it if your people skills are that bad, you shouldn't be allowed to carry any kind of weapon, lethal, or non lethal. To you officers reading this stick that taser in your locker and start communicating with people, loud music doesn't in any way shape or form costitute a threat to the officer or anyone else. Words vs tasers, hmm . . . dumb cops hope they file suite against you and take some of that dough-nut money from you.

What happened to protect and serve? Police are nothing but a bunch of ignorant, paramilitary, thugs. They are too lazy to do their jobs so they resort to tazing and using chemical weapons as torture devices on anyone and everyone. If you are too fat and out of shape to control a defenseless woman..Get a job at the Donut shop!!!
traceyApr 8th 2008 6:22PM
i'd rather be tazed than shot. People need to stop acting like morons and start acting like functioning adults! who gets so wasted on your wedding and goes to jail? WHO THE HELL DOES THAT??? next thing ya know they'll be on maury povich trying to get a free wedding out of him cuz they ruined there's. sad leave the police alone they do what they can with what they got.

1: There arent many white folks in that area! Im white, and Im not 'white trash'!
2: Why was the bride arrested for 'public intoxication'? I've been drunk in public half my life and havnt been arrested. Sounds like the police are making it up.
3: The party was probably 20 people who were having a good time when the police came in. If I was the husband, I'd wonder what their problem was too. He had no right to be tazed.

Ava,
Your an idiot, obviously white trash like the couple who was arrested. You can trash talk the police, but when you need them, you will expect their help. They put their lives in jeopardy everyday, and they get mediocre pay and shit from losers like you.
yeah, and they always show up when the shooting has stopped, i dont depend on the police, twice now if i had, i'd be dead.
sandraApr 8th 2008 6:28PM
i think it is funny and the couple will have a laugh in years to come about their wedding night. oh well, stuff happens!?
guyApr 8th 2008 6:28PM
I hope someone gets me drunk and tasers me if I even think about getting married.

whoever approves of the use of tasers are idiots. You havnt done your research if that is the case. People are dead, not just one, but multiple people are dead because of cops using the tasers. A lot of them use it waaay out of context as well, also, when it isnt necessary at all. It is there f'ing wedding night. They can be loud for one night especially that one, and shouldnt even of had in their mind that they could be tazed. That is rediculous. Those cops do need tasers shoved up their ass.
It may have been their wedding night, but they have absolutely no right to disturb the neighborhood. Sorry but they got what they deserved. Granted some people have died after being tased, but they are not the majority. Bottom line is if you don't want to get tased, then cooperate with the officers instructions.
steveoApr 8th 2008 6:38PM
I wish I could have seen the losers get zapped. The people that think it's wrong are the kind of people that do things to get zapped in the first place. That's why they don't like it.Line all the trash together and zap em.
kathleenApr 8th 2008 7:41PM
I bet this is not the last we will hear of this episode. He will probly start a law suit of emotional trauma. That he is scared for life and wont be able to fulfill his marital obligations they will probly even make a movie about it. Life is stranger than fiction. I hope someday it will make them laugh when they are old and grey.

Damn, I thought I had a shitty weding night. Not that I think about it may b if I had been tazed I would have snaped out of it and got an annulment instead of a divorve less than a year later!
jackieApr 8th 2008 6:55PM
LISA You sound like a very bitter ex-wife. My husband was also a police officer for 15 years, and not all police are as you describe them. Sorry your experience with police was so bad that it left you that bitter and angry, but let's be fair to the majority of the police officers out there that are nothing as you have described in your comment.. good luck in life, hope it gets and stays better for you.
TabithaApr 8th 2008 6:54PM
The phrase white trash is in no way racism toward blacks. It only implies that there are some white people that are trashy, so stop with the racism crap.
MikeApr 8th 2008 6:54PM
this is a direct side effect of a drastically changing society. tolerance is preached from Congress but intolerance is flaunted with commonday laws. it used to be a few years ago where cops would just simply go to a college party with drinking, make sure no one was under 18 (even when the drinking age was 21) and then leave. now our self righteous opposition to foreign opinions that call us decadant guide us to become far more strict with out laws. so a couple got a little smashed and didn't like the POPO interrupting the revelry, woopdy doo. to those who attack the police, grow up and realize that most police are in the same spot as army recruiters. they now have a quota to reach in catching crime, this means no mercy to a misdemeanor or occasional accident. to those who condemn the couple, tell me about your wedding night. you either didnt have one or it was incredibly dull.
ding dongApr 8th 2008 6:55PM
Angela have you always been stupid? People who get tased deserve it. When a police officer gives you a directive do it! People like to challenge the cops. Why should the officer risk his physical well being and/or life for some damn idiot. Take your ass out into the streets and see what a police officer has to deal with. Hell, go to an inner city school and see what a teacher has to go through. Some of those damn students need to be TASED too!
