Man Gets $2.6 Million for Pizza.com Domain Name

There are easy ways to make loads of money. We swear. All you have to do is go back in time and buy up a bunch of domain names and then auction them off, well, now. Simple right?
A U.S. man just sold the domain name pizza.com for $2.6 million to an anonymous buyer.
Chris Clark, of North Potomac, Maryland, registered the domain name in 1994. He had originally hoped that the domain name would secure a contract with a pizza company for his consulting company. Surprisingly, it didn't work out, so he sold his businesses, but maintained the domain name for $20 a year. Now his forethought is being rewarded in a huge, huge way.
Clark got the idea after the domain name vodka.com sold for $3 million. He opened the auction on March 27th. After an initial bid of $100, the price jumped to $2.6 million a few weeks later. In a post-sale interiew, Clark expressed regret for not having purchased more domain names while the internet was still young.
Buddy, you and us both.

Would someone email me and provide information on an ON-Line Auction company for auctioning Domain Names. Not a company that you must give the name over to before it is auctioned. Thanks, Egdir1@aol.com

Does anybody know what auction house he used? Thanks!

Unbelievable! Another "fast Buck" for something seemingly worth far less. Well, the internet generation will have another 30 years to become millionaires and billionaires through these silly-ass domain names. Here's one for you -- bilker.bungler.com.

OK, so I own www.pizzafast.com and 1-877-PIZZA-FAST, how do I find out who lost the bidding?
WhistlerApr 7th 2008 9:15PM
Guess people really love their pizza.... lol. But that is a very valuable name, no doubt. I have whistlerparty available as both a com/net name, and am hoping to auction them off or even work with a private buyer, I think it will be a huge investment op before the 2010 Olympics in Whistler and Vancouver. The property values are still skyrocketing in Vancouver, and they are already astronomical in proportion to the income!! But I don't know which is the best place/way to auction the domain, I just have a Sedo link right now and a contact on the parked site which goes to my yahoo email (whistlerparty). It will be interesting to see what happens!

anyone wants to buy wantabreak.com ,,,,,email me if interested.

I've got numerous domain names at Sedo.com including www.justmoney.com and www.brides.org. I'm so happy for Mr. Clark. When you consider how much a 30 second spot costs during the Super Bowl, buying a domain name for millions of dollars is really not a bad deal considering a website is up 24/7/365.

I bought PerrysPizza.com in June 2004 for $8 a year because it was my "namesake" and I had managed pizzerias, thinking I may one day get my own. Well, I tired of the hours it took and moved on. I placed it on a "for sale" parking page had a buyer approach me in November 2005, offering me $1000 for it! He also planned on opening another Perrys Pizza in CA. Of course, I took it!
I considered selling www.FastCash247.com for the longest time, but now I make a ton of CA$H off it weekly! Glad I kept it! :)
