Researchers Explain Poltergeists via Quantum Physics

BoingBoing reports that two physicists are publishing a paper in science journal NeuroQuantology explaining the existence and activities of poltergeists. Yes, poltergeists. Pierro Brovetto and Vera Maxia believe pubescent "female neuronal activity" triggers quantum field changes. They believe that these disturbances cause the flying objects and supernatural disturbances typical of poltergeist activity. Similarly, the Rhine Center, a research center that studies the paranormal, suggests that poltergeist effects are "outward manifestations of psychological trauma," and that the supernatural phenomena originates within human minds.
New Scientist contacted Brian Josephson, a Nobel laureate physicist on the board of the scientific journal, about the study. He commented, "This looks distinctly flaky to me." Check the abstract out for yourself online.
Is this a cryptic April Fools' joke? We're skeptical, but AFP, a global news agency, explains that New Scientist has a history of publishing outrageous stories, which are actually true, on April 1st.

I believe it because it has happened to me when I was under a lot of stress or very upset.
One time a coffee pot shattered when I touched the handle. Another time a crystal bowl shattered into tiny pieces (flying all over my kitchen) as soon as I touched it. Both times I was under alot of stress. So I believe it could be true.

My Dad sees ghosts once in a while. It's like they search him out. It's weird. He's more afraid of Earthquakes than ghosts. One time at his house, sleeping in the living room, a flashlight turned itself on and off a few times. I didn't sleep there for weeks.

Has anyone ever seen any native American or African Slave ghosts ? I heard that when you suffer a traumatic death that the place where the murder occured can be disturbed or haunted. The horrible things that have occured to them or even the Jews in Germany would make me think that wherever any of these people have been murdered by the horrible things whites have done throughout the history of the earth would have to be haunted. There is a judgement day coming so Watch your steps !

We had a poltergeist live with us for about 6 months in 1977. Our middle daughter started noticeing that her stuffed animals were moving around in her room. Then one day she was laying on her bed trying to think of a popular song. Her clock radio clicked on, announced the name of the song, and clicked off. Of course we didn't believe her then, but six months later we were all believers and still are. It got to be distracting at work as everyone wanted a daily report on what was happening at our house. Someone told me that I could ask it to go away and it would, so I did and it did. It had nothing to do with our youngest or oldest daughters. It only acted alone or with my eleven year old or with my wife or with me alone. We also had three cats which I always suspected of the midnight activity, but I verified their innocence on many occasions. We were never afraid of "him" and had no major damage. The only close call was when the garage door narrowly missed my head and tried to trap me in the garage. I was able to pry it up with 2x4s. I felt the presence of someone living with us until I asked him to leave and he never came back. He seemed no more dangerous than any normal person.

I have an old Book that explains spirits, demons and apparations sent from Satan to imitate our dead loved ones and reinforce the heretical teaching of life-after-death.
Listen to what the Bible teaches ~ "For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also, their love, and their hatred, and their envy is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun."
Life after death is the original lie spoken to Eve .. remember? "Thou shalt not surely die," said Satan. He is still perpetuating that falsehood.

So Artisson...because my writing was somewhat grammatically correct and I did not misspell any words means that my encounters I have/had are true and believable, but someone else who cannot write or communicate as well as others automatically makes them liars????
I would hate to think that if you were someone I would go to for help or guidance, that you just might ask me to spell a few words first before considering what you would do, on the off-chance that you wouldn't want to be helping someone who you would consider an idiot.
I have two friends who didn't finish school and cannot write a paragraph without a few words misspelled, but they are honest, kind and loyal people. I would trust them with my life and know that anything they have told me in the past was true, whether I agreed with it or not.
I do not feel superior to them in any way, or feel the need to worry about what they say or how true it is.
I have many friends who come from different backgrounds, cultures, and different levels of education, and believe me, the ones who I can truly count on do not have college degrees, dress perfectly, speak correctly, or worry about being seen in only the most proper circles.

This story sounds real hoaky to me. Young girls going through puberty are seeing ghosts? What about young men going through puberty? Do they not see ghosts too? Probably not, because they're too busy looking for the young puberty aged girls!
There is a very good explanation for all of this research. Old male scientist/young puberty aged girls. Think about! And, yes, they probably recieved a goverment grant to study this. Save the tax payers money and just send these quacks to local adult book store.
Now, with all this said, how do you explain adults seeing ghosts? Ever watch Ghost Hunters on the Sci Fi Channel? The folks on that show are all adult males and they have seen some pretty strange occurences. Oh, by the way, I was 26 years old, male, and way beyond puberty when, in 1996, I captured a ghost on video tape near the Gettysburg Battlefield. Explain that Mr. Scientist!

Just as in life as it is in death, that some are inherintly good souls and some are bad. For every thing must have its opposite, like the Yin and Yang, Male and Female, Living and Non-living. But what is "living?" We have physical forms but when you break us down to our smallest particles, we are just energy. That energy can neither be created or destroyed, just changed from one form to another.
The Big-Bang Theory believes everything in the Universe started with a big explosion. A big explosion of what? Energy? We are all part of one source, not that anything necessarily created that source. Some of us have the ability to tap into other parts of the brain that others cannot. How many people have been in an accident and then all of a sudden had ESP?
I believe humans and perhaps all living beings, have powers that only a few end up experiencing.
I have Fibromyalgia. The best definition I have heard for it, is like the volume on your CNS is turned up. I experience pain more extremely than others and I am also sensitive to things others are not like sounds, smells, vision, etc. I can hear things others cannot, like I hear the electricity in the walls. I have talked to many with my condition who say the same. Some have even suggested a possible ESP phenomenon that persons with the condition may have. One common emotion that seems to be with many with Fibro, is Empathy. I've always had difficulty with the problems of the world affecting me. Perhaps those of us with this condition are able to tap into an unused part of the brain due to our CNS dysfunction.
I think everyone has the potential ability to tap into unexplored parts of our brains. With that exploration leads to discovery and understanding of the Universe, which we are all a collective part of.

True be told, Eleanor's spirit can't stand her and has had her telephone number changed and unlisted.

Hey yertldaturtle. Where did you come up with that one? Any way, just wanted to say that I've rented a U-Haul truck and it's waiting for you. Any time your ready to leave "MY GODDAMN COUNTRY" feel free to use the truck! Oh, by the way the rental included retardes, ghosts and all the werewolves of London. I guess they can keep you company on your journey to YOUR promised land! God Bless America! Love it or leave it!

Talk about believes, everyone believes something or it's inverse and there's some great influence and limited power in all believes, but there is unlimited and eternal power in the Truth. The most important issue here is, what are you believing, the Truth or some error or lie, or are you a conscious deciever yourself?.
Which one, may I ask of those physicists and reseachers whose believes are "no spirits and no supernatural reality"? It is the reality that counts not just what you believe. Sad for your inexperience but that's no excuse, if you become sincere, and ask God through Jesus Christ to save you, circumcise your spirit and open your eyes, you will feel, see and know better. You may not be as lucky to meet your turning point in safety as Saul or Nebuchadnezzer. The earlier you know the truth, the better for you and your students.
Now how do you explain with your quantum mechanics how three or more individuals independently have same experience in same location at same or different times, with same, sighting, hearing and feeling results.
How do you explain how one sees events in a dreams or visions or is told of a pending event days, months or years before it comes to pass exactly.
Still futher how can you explain to me what happened when ritual killers kidnapped my younger brother but had to dump him when God set their vehicle on fire which all saw forcing the driver to stop and everyone jumping out for dear life but when my brother stepped out, the fire ceased and the kidnappers who knew that to try any further mischief would spell out trouble left him there to find his way out of the jungles. Or may be because you were not there to witness it and analyse, then it did't happen or it probably was an optical illusion.
Friends, let no one decieve you in any way, what are described as supernaturals are real and independent of the human mind, the mind is only an interface exactly as it is to the physical reality.
Above all, God is a true and living reality.
Those reseacher should have known better but since they willfully hate the Truth of God which cannot be changed, they are blinded and decieved. Why don't those dynamic disturbances turn into sweet and pleasant music but are terifying noises with apparent wicked origin.

quantum mechanics and general relativity can be combined and when combined they produce results that explain all other theories in physics.if these two physicists want to make these new findings they should first of all look at the effects of gravity on small particles than looking at it's effect on large bodies. The photon may not be massless and hence when moving gravity affects it hence slowing down its speed, therefore the speed of light also can't be a constant as we know it. All these effects affect the way we view physics and hence must be taken when designing a new finding. All physics theories first must be derived from one equation see http://www.freewebs.com/balungilano/ and htt://jabarule.livejournal.com

Isn't it odd that people who have supernatural experiences tend to have more than one. Looking through the comments it looks like most people have never seen a "ghost" and then some people have experience with several. Makes me wonder if using lithium instead of exorcism or angels to deal with spirits might not be the better course of action.
