How to Organize Your Cables

Are your wires crawling out into the living room from behind your TV, game systems and speakers? Do you get your feet tangled in the mess of computer, printer and monitor cords gathered under your desk? Constantly getting your headphones tangled up in your pocket? Roll up your sleeves and check out Lifehacker's guide to getting cables under control.

The guide, focusing on cheap and easy solutions anyone can do, offers fixes for all types of tangled wire headaches. Ideas range from an ingenious method for storing extension cords (place them in a paper towel tube) to building your own 'charging station' for managing and charging all the digital devices you've got lying around.

If your desk is still overflowing with wires, you can hide the tangled mess on the underside of your desk with a mountable wire basket and zip ties (under $20). With spring just around the corner, it's a great time to get in touch with your inner organizer.
