Man Gets $22,000 Bill For Downloading 'Friends' Episode
Apparently, the download would have cost nothing to download in his home country, but once he crossed borders into Germany, he was in high-charge 'roaming' territory. In a kind gesture, representatives at Vodafone actually called him before the bill arrived to alert him of its high cost.
Which probably cost him a few minutes off his plan, to boot.

Here's another caution,the new fancy phones like iphones set to retrieve email every hour. If you fail to turn this feature off when on international vacation the phone continues to check for email every hour at international rates. I just learned this the hard way this morning.
