Man Gets $22,000 Bill For Downloading 'Friends' Episode

What's worse than watching four episodes of Friends? Try paying $22,000 for the privlege.
The story -- according to the U.K's Sunday Times, goes something like this: A British woman was apparently using her husband's Vodafone cell phone to download four episodes of 'Friends.' The downloads were accidentally interrupted as the man left his UK home for a business trip to Germany; once his plane landed, the downloads continued. When the man arrived back home, he got a bill for £11,000 (about $22,000) -- due to the out-of-network/roaming/suck-you-dry tactics that cell phone companies employ.

Apparently, the download would have cost nothing to download in his home country, but once he crossed borders into Germany, he was in high-charge 'roaming' territory. In a kind gesture, representatives at Vodafone actually called him before the bill arrived to alert him of its high cost.

Which probably cost him a few minutes off his plan, to boot.
