But this one could get them in a major pile of trouble. By breaking security programs, this would leave users that ran the update open for attack by all the malware out there and M$ open for legal action if anyone loses data or gets hacked or 'bugged' after they ran the update.

You can change your Works to save in Word 97/2003 mode. When you do a save as choose use the drop down box to change what format the document saves in.
