I am looking to buy a laptop for my wife. She has little knowledge about computers. The laptop would be foir surfing the net and doing her homework.
I am not looking to spend a fortune.
Any suggestions.

dont buy a laptop.
hope that helps. lol. reason why i say this because if your trying to save money laptops are not made for that.
You would have to spend a lot of money on one to get a really good, lasting one.

when it comes to laptops i think macs have it locked down. because you can still run windows on it and they open every windows file.
They are more stable and they hold their value.
Of course the down side is that they get outdated very fast and are all the same for people who want to be different. Plus you always have to keep up with their updates otherwise you get left behind.
But they are still worth it. Now desktops are another story.
