Britain Looking to Ban Teen-Deterring Tech

Mosquito teen-deterring device
In a sign that the Brits don't actually hate their children, a civil liberties group has gained traction in its campaign to ban high-frequency devices intended to drive children away from shops and other areas.

The "Mosquito" became something of a controversial device when it was brought to market last year, as it essentially emits high-frequency noise that's audible (and highly irritating) to young ears, but generally not heard by people over 20.

"I think it is a powerful symptom of what I call the malaise at the heart of our society," said English Children's Commissioner Al Aynsley-Green. "I'm very concerned about what I see to be an emerging gap between the young and the old, the fears, the intolerance, even the hatred, of the older generation toward the young."

Pretty cool (for an old guy).
