Grandmother Fends Off Intruder With a Cell Phone

The incident took place at around 8 P.M. when the grandmother, with her granddaughter in the house, noticed her porch light wasn't working. She opened the door to see what had happened when a man tried to force his way in and the altercation took place. We're not sure exactly how she fended off her would be attacker with her mobile handset, be we're assuming she used it as a blunt object with which to bludgeon him.

I love this story. I have a stun gun and a mighty sharp pig poker close by. Anyone who comes into my house without an invitation will have me to contend with and my schnauzer will take are of his backside. I hope some moron tries it. This knife is new and hasn't been 'initiated'. Makes me smile just to think of it. And nothing would happen to me! Hee hee.

I am so glad that she was the one that was
successful and not the bad guy...way to go
"GRANNY!" That is why we have a gun and a permit
to carry and use it. Now days you need one especially the way that people are breaking into
homes and shooting even in malls and innocent
people are getting killed every second because
of idiots just like this one....

I live in a trailer park, it's a nice place, over 55, but I still have my 9mm on the night stand. I made up my mind many years ago that, yes, if I have to point it at someone I will fire.

I am sure that the above article is accurate. Having been raised in Lawrence County Alabama and attending Speake school I have known many older residents in the area that would have put an intruder on his butt.
However the photo added with the article is wholly inaccurate. I realize average temps have increased lately but there is no way in hell that palm trees survive to the growth that the one on the right side of the photo has attained.
I cant make out the name on the side of the police cars but I would bet its not from any of the Lawrence County police force.
