Extend Your Cell Phone's Battery Life-10

Over time, your battery connection to your cellphone can become corroded. This can then lead to sub-par battery performance. If you notice your battery contacts -- those gold-colored metallic points on the bottom -- have become discolored or have accumulated dirt, then grab a cotton swab and some alcohol and wipe both the contacts themselves and the battery compartment on your cell phone. Once any dust, lint or other debris has been cleared, the energy transfer should be back to normal and your battery may run longer.

The pointer about cleaning the battery contacts and battery compartment with an alcohol dipped cotton swab should carry a warning to stay away from the little LDI (liquid damage indicator). If this little dot is exposed to any liquid, it will turn red and void your warranty--regardless of how it was exposed. If it's activated, your outta luck.

You can stay away from the liquid (alcohol) by using a pencil eraser. Then there will be no chance of exposing the LDI.

John,
Wow, I learned this trick from a good friend Electronics designer (Dennis) in the 80's. We'd clean the contacts on RAM before replacing or adding it. A dried out "pink pearl eraser" works great. Letting it dry out on a shelf removes even more oils from the eraser..
Are today's contacts any less fussy about oils?

Hello, can you tell me where the LDI is located? Regards
