Coco Chanel's High-Fashion Cell Phone
Fashion phones, trendy little mobile devices that typically look better than they work, are increasingly common these days. Many are born when stolid handset makers decide to do something a little different, while others come from partnerships of electronics companies and fashion moguls. This latest one, though, comes straight from Coco Chanel (through designer Fred de GARILHE), and while it has perhaps a little too much branding on it for our tastes, it is quite a looker. When closed the phone looks something like one side of a chromed Rubik's Cube. It slides open to reveal a semi-transparent glass screen said to be driven by an "optical fiber" system. The sliding portion of the cover lights up and turns into a number pad, while the other buttons on the right turn into start and end call buttons. It's perhaps not the most ergonomic looking thing, and it's also just a prototype so it may never see the light of day beyond these concept sketches, but it's an innovative take on phone design and we're all for a little innovation in the handset market.

Hello! There's a small issue related to this phone and Chanel. I've already removed the article about the handset from my site (www.concept-phones.com). Read more about the issue here - http://www.tuvie.com/chanel-choco-phone-by-fred-de-garilhe . From what I understand you should remove the article, too
Here's what Fred de Garilhe wrote to me:
"Dear sir,
You’ve published a concept from me, Chanel Choco Phone, some days ago.The Chanel company have contacted me to ask me to remove all images about it, because it was forbidden. Could you, please, remove all images and links concerning it from your site ?
By advance, thank you very much…
Best regards,
Frederic de GARILHE"
