Texas UFO Sighting Explained?
You know that UFO that was spotted in Texas last week? The one that was supposedly a mile long and traveling at 3,000 miles per hour while being chased by military F-16's? Well, the military has a fairly simple explanation. It turns out it wasn't a UFO that was being chased by F-16's, it actually was F-16's -- ten in fact -- flying in formation with lights on that may have created the illusion of a large craft.
The 301st Fighter Wing at the Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base indicated that it was indeed performing some exercises that evening and that the sightings were simply its jets. Mystery solved? For most, yes, but conspiracy theorists won't be able to stop thinking about this one just yet. It seems that after the sightings last week, the 301st indicated that it didn't have any jets in the area at the time. So, was this an innocent mistake, or is this some government cover-up? You decide.

Having seen recently posted footage, no I don't think F-16s. That admission was somewhat belated, and only goes to confirm original witness reports of fighter jets "chasing" a much larger object..reports that were by all accounts strenuously denied by the air force. This should not be a case of "you decide.." It deserves more thorough investigation.

Tim,
Did you actually read what the release said? No, they DIDN'T "indicate" the sightings were caused by their jets, but that is apparently what they want you to infer. And you fell for it.
The Air Force (and other federal agencies) have a long history of denial, cover-up and out-right lies regarding the UFO subject. They simply want the story to go away without further public scrutiny. That isn't a "conspiracy theory." That's public record.
If you had any journalistic chops at all you would follow up and try to get more information before you just stupidly chant the party line.

I've seen UFOs all over Texas and they weren't no jets! I spotted a UFO (Unidentified Fryin' Object) in the kitchen just this mornin'...it did kind of scare me, but I ate it anyway. Gotta go now and fix my aluminum foil helmet for the next communication attempt. Oh yeah, will somebody please, take a good picture of the next ship so I can start building mine.
