Elderly Amish Man Caught on Film With Prostitute, Blackmailed
When a 75-year-old Amish widower slept with a prostitute, he -- we feel certain -- felt pretty bad about it the next morning. As if that guilt weren't enough for the old man, the prostitute and her boyfriend demanded $67,000 from him, claiming that they had filmed the scene with wall-mounted cameras and would upload the recording to the Internet. The pair was later arrested and, we can only imagine, the Amish man abhorred technology more than ever.
Bank Robber Gets Away With the Help of Craiglist
In October, a bank robber -- wearing a safety vest, blue shirt, face mask and goggles -- eluded police with the help of Craiglist. Just outside the bank, while the robbery was in progress, stood a group of men who were responding to a Craiglist day labor opportunity. As the advertisement required, they were all wearing safety vests, blue shirts, face masks and goggles.
Nude New Zealander Arrested After Responding to Fake Sexy Text Message
Late in 2007, a Wellington, New Zealand man received a racy text message from two anonymous "ladies," giving him only an address and a request that he show up naked. Well, he indeed showed up naked... at the home of one appalled, unsuspecting New Zealander. Both the nude Romeo and the sadistic texter were arrested, though neither were prosecuted.
Fake Craiglist Ad Costs Man Most of What He Owns
Last Spring, a post appeared on an Oregon Craigslist board stating that the owner of a specific house was leaving all of his worldly possessions (still in said house) to whoever wanted them. When homeowner Robert Salisbury rushed home -- on a tip from a woman suspicious about the offer of a free horse -- he found his house being ransacked by 30 strangers. We suggest he take that horse and collect some vengeance Clint Eastwood-style.
17-Year-Old Jailed for Stealing Virtual 'Furniture'
When a 17-year-old Dutch boy hacked into several accounts on the Second Life-style site 'Habbo' in 2007, the the law got involved. The boy was discovered to have stolen $5,800 worth of virtual furniture and knick-knacks. Apparently, crime -- whether actual or virtual -- does not pay.
Phishers Going After Your Phones in New 'Vishing' Trend
Over the past year, sneaky spammers have begun to forsake the worn-out territory of e-mail in favor of cell phones' fertile frontier. The result? "Vishing." Get it? Voice mail phishing. It might be more ominous if it didn't sound like a James Bond villain saying, "Wishing."
Burglars Break Into Restaurant, Steal HDTV, Leave Money / Food Behind
Around Halloween of last year, a truckload of thieves drove into -- that's right, into -- a Pennsylvania Mexican restaurant, where they -- apparently uninterested in the cash register -- stole a mid-grade 47-inch HDTV and fled the scene. We've all heard about how this generation is lacking in ambition, but this generation's thieves, too?

The issue is not porn. The issue is totalitarian government, like the US is becoming where the majority inflicts tyranny on any minority which is not politically or socially correct.....notable examples being the criminalization of transfats in private property restaurants and the criminalization of cigarette smoking in mom-and-pop beer joints.

Rub one while read Chairman Mao's little red boook? Ah, I don't think so. Man, why are these "Nanny Stater's" so afraid of sex? Maybe they got upset when they were told that porno can "Put Lead in Your Pencil"! What a bunch of "weenies"!

I'm a counseling psychologist and have seen how the use of porn can can cause sexual addiction in kids, lead to sexual assault and hurt marriages. Free speech should not include assault on others ... you can't yell "fire" in a movie theatre. Congress needs to at least eliminate any possible access to porn by children. This would at least be a start.

I'm so sick of hearing people use the freedoms we've been blessed with to justify porn. It's disgusting and it's ruining our society.
No, it's NOT normal
No, it's NOT healthy
No, it shouldn't be a "right" we have in our country.
We should respect human beings (both women and men) and should not do disgusting things while looking at them.

I live in small town USA, almost weekly in my town or the surrounding areas, I read in the paper that Chinese "Massage" parlors are being shut down, and it isn't for massages!! They are so stinking perverted. Believe me I am no prude, but they know, men will hand over the almighty dollar for a Happy Ending.

I am a proponent of free speech no matter how gross. However, praise God for the crackdown on porn. It is a God sent. It does so much harm to the family and to the clueless person who takes part in this degrading act.

i wish all pornographic sites had to have website names ending in .xxx like i've heard is in the works, so we would not end up in them when we look for thw white house for example... censoring? i'm not comfortable with that... people will look whereever they have to to find it... i wonder why in a godless society they care what the people are looking at... i guess there IS a morality to things after all...maybe, just maybe, there really IS a GOD?!!hmmmmmm...

Why is pornography considered denigrating to women, and not to men? If you look at those poor guys, for not very much money, and the degrading, disgusting things they are required to do . . . I don't see how you can say it's only denigrating to the women performers.
As far as shutting down 44,000 sites in China . . . I'll bet they didn't shut down the sites that high Communist party members own. Ahhh, corruption. Ya gotta love it.

Porn should feature adults be viewed by adults.
Adult content I enjoy is 21 an up. There are some women 18 an older who seem "mature" for there age. That's adult.
Some adult content I've seen of younger adults is "questionable",
risky, unfavorable to them an the industry.
Do teens think of themselves as adults starting at 16 or 18?
We know the answer? don't we?
Nr 17 , particaly nude content is suggestive enough for teens, isn't it?
It was for me.
is it possibable because kids an teens look for a exsample of "love"
among adults an people. not sex.
i don't know what was on the sites that where shut down in china.
In america I hope we manage the adult content as some thing to enjoy as adults. if it's banned an shut down, what's next sexual oppression of citizens? not good.
I think even adults who view content may want to see more "love"
expressed, not only in the movies, down loads. I would.
There no shortage of hard core.
in my experince with relationship with single mothers keep our "adult" content viewing, an sexual encounters separate from the kids an teens was the easy part.
The porn industry is a multi billion dollar industry.
A internet ID code on ID card, licenses would be an effective against bans on content access.
When I view adult content a don't enjoy i click on something else.
If I buy a movie I don't enjoy, It's made unviewable an throw it away.

stuff.

I think that free use of the internet MAY keep all those cheating politicians from cheating so much. Porn is porn. It has been around in increasing quantity since the printing press was invented. It was around before them but you had to go to it. I watched a lot of porn when it became so accessable on the web, but I soon got a bit tired of it. How many different ways can you show a sex act...."normal" or perverted....and who makes the distinction for us, anyway. We would have to modify the 1st ammendment of the constitution...and everyone keeps telling me how wise the Founding Fathers were when they wrote the constitution. Freedom of speech or not???

Porn is simply people appreciating God's creations. Sexual desires are basic, as is survival, so why not enjoy it however one wishes? Those that get hurt by choosing to watch the "evil" porn had options. But don't penalize everybody because their weak marriage imploded or they vomited watching people poop. I've never seen anything like that but that isn't the point. You went there, Einstein.
Personally I find slasher movies repelling, gross, and, "Oh! The children!" But what gives me the superiority over you to keep you from watching "The Godfather"? Why would I even begin thinking everybody shouldn't do what I dislike?
I don't drink or smoke because I make that choice but people murder thousands of innocents as well as themselves yet one can legally buy these killers. Hey, it's right there in your neighborhood store where everybody has to see them and those that openly choose to use them. But hide the magazines that show boobs!
I don't know of many people killing or dying of over-porning. I only hear of people that dislike it and are so insecure they feel a need to control others. Why should you even spend the time wondering and worrying about what Joe Blow watches?
Why the God and First Amendment injections into a discussion about porn? Do you really think God gives a damn? If so, visit Dafur or North Korea. Do you really think Adams or Jefferson were thinking porn back then? I believe they had concrete issues to address.
Lighten up or get a skin thickener or better yet, heed the words of "evil" Alice Cooper: "You are the only censor. If you don't like what I say, you have a choice: You can turn me off."©
D'oh.

If that happened in the US there would be a national rebellion, though considering the frequency of government sex scandals I doubt such a law would ever make it past congress. The fact of the matter is I think America loves sex (and money) too much to let a billion dollar industry like porn go under.
And, to those who have claimed that porn is degrading to women, I strongly disagree. Do you look at porn? Have you ever talked to people that make porn? I would say from experience that most women in the porn industry do it because they ENJOY it, it's liberating to them. There is also plenty of porn that is empowering to women or portrays healthy, loving relationships. Not all porn is the same.
I would just like to close by saying that I am a woman and I LOVE porn and nothing anyone can say or do would make me stop looking at porn- not even a censorship law.
