Super Roaches Born in Space

The Russians have begun a new arms race, and we may be entering a second, more terrifying, Cold War with the former Communist super power. But instead of fighter jets or nuclear missiles, this time it's "super cockroaches" that the Russians have bred.
The super roaches were conceived and born aboard the Russian satellite Foton-M, proving once-and-for-all a basic tenant of cheesy sci-fi films: Space radiation and/or zero gravity is capable of granting super powers. The new roaches are faster, more energetic, and more resilient than regular cockroaches. The super roaches' bodies and limbs even grow faster.
Are these super cockroaches meant to enslave us all? Or are they just here to boss around other cockroaches?

we cannot get rid of the monsters we have and this is what the"scientist" are doing with their time and energy? i don't believe these nincompoops have nothing better to do than to create super cockroaches!why dont they invest their time and energy on something good for humanity loke reviving dead brain cells for stupid scientists?

I think the idea behind these "breeding experiments" is, as the article said, to determine the effects of zero gravity and cosmic radiation on reproductive processes. What if two cosmonauts get together and produce a "super baby"! The space race could be on again for real! Really though, it is a simple experiment meant to confirm some hypothesis, but I also am worried what might happen if the experiments "get loose". Everyone has heard of Africanized ("Killer") Bees, right?
