Woman Gives Up Cell Phone For New Year's
What would you do if you had to part with your cell phone -- even for just a few weeks?
A New York-based comedienne and self-proclaimed "first advocate for moderation in cell phone use" has made this choice willingly, giving up her cell phone for 60 days -- a New Year's resolution.
Amy Borkowsky stopped using her cell phone cold turkey at the stroke of midnight New Year's Eve. According to her Web site, reasons for the mobile fast range from the immediate and social -- such as talking on her phone while out to dinner with a friend -- to the societal. Borkowsky cites recent studies linking cell phone use to cancer, memory impairment and hearing loss.
She's also allotted herself an emergency roll of quarters for making phone calls from pay phones.
So anybody else out there want to follow Amy's lead? What would you do without your cell phone?

WOULD YOU STICK YOUR HEAD

EXPERT DISCUSSES CONTROVERSY
OVER CELL PHONE SAFETY.
Today there are an estimated 3 billion cell phones in the world. In Europe 80% of the population uses them, compared to 60% in the US. The US. Market is growing quickly especially among teens and children who are at the greatest risk. . All this points to one fact: cell phones are BIG business. Even though the health risks from radiation are being reported and the evidence is mounting, the industry giants continue to claim their products are safe.
Shelly Kalnitsky, an authority on cell phone issues wants to ask you three questions.
1. Do you now believe nicotine is non-addictive?
2. Do you now believe that cigarette smoking does not cause lung cancer?
3. Do the words “radiation” and “microwaves” sound like something you want going into your brain?
“The jury is still out on the extent of the long term effects of cell phones” says Kalnitsky “but we are discovering more evidence of cell phone dangers.” He points to an independent reporting site www.cprnews.com which documents hundreds of articles , studies and research on cell phone dangers under world news.
He discusses :
• How the industry suppresses negative stories.
• The increased risks cell phones pose to teens and children.
• Why current hands free kits are more dangerous.
• New products that can reduce the risk.
• Safety tips in cell phone usage.
Kalnitsky is an expert on the subject and can add insight on recent scientific findings as well as discuss protection devices such as shields, new hands free radiation free kits and safety tips that can offer a remedy for cell phone users.

I LIKED IT BETTER WHEN ONLY DOCTORS AND DRUG DEALERS HAD CELL PHONES. YOU COULD ALWAYS TELL WHICH WAS WHICH.

That was pagers, not cell phones. But anyways, too many people are in love with their cell phones. Today, the worst drivers are ones that are talking on their cell phones!

Hey! Sure I could carry around a bunch of quarters for pay phones...BUT the last time I forgot my cell and needed a pay phone, not a none could be found. Anyway who wants to catch a nasty virus off a payphone receiver and be charged at least 50 cents for your trouble!?

Hello? Hello? Some people willingly don't have cell phones. At all. Ever.
A woman refraining from using one for 60 days is newsworthy? Perhaps if she gave it up for good, yes. Learning how to be alone is a fine new year's resolution, & I'll go ahead & suggest it here.

I get sick of mobile phones and any other of those radiating devices.

I have no doubt people are going to radiate each other to afterlife being bombarded with all those stuff. My life has been destroyed!

I send a big Congratulations to the woman who gave up her cell phone for the year. I hope she finds the local cell phone recycling center and deposits it there. I gave mine up 2 years ago after a nightmarish esperience in which I purchased a nice suburban home, found out after the escrow closed that there was a cell tower two-tenths of a mile away. I forgot about it until I realized that I was sleeping very poorly and was never able to sleep past 4 am in the morning. I became severely sleep-deprived, developed high blood pressure and severe anxiety...Needless to say, I moved, sold the house and now live as far "out of range" as I can. This really happened. This industry does harm, there are HUGE coverups happening; I encourage all of you to recycle your cell phones and demand improved land lines in your life.
