'Halo 3' Tops Time's Video Game of the Year List

We're not sure how much of an authority on gaming Time magazine is, but given that it's a respected news outlet, we think it carries a certain amount of weight when it says that 'Halo 3' is the best game of the year.

"In one of the greatest years video gaming has ever seen, 'Halo 3' is the very best of the bunch," says Time's Lev Grossman, who thought the latest installment of the third-person shooter was so good that it beat out other media and fan favorites -- including 'BioShock,' 'Rockband,' and 'Super Mario Galaxy' -- for the top slot on the list.

Although Halo 3 was a damn good game, I dont think it should necessarily be GAME OF THE YEAR. The single player is good mind you but it didnt seem Halo 3 lived up to all the hype. It seemed everytime you turned on the TV...There was a commercial of Halo. Than once it came out it was a tad bit dissapointing. Especially hearing that its making people's Xbox's crash. After playing Halo 3 than changing my gaming over to Call of Duty 4, it seemed that COD 4 was much better. Sure single player may be a little shorter with COD but the online mode is strictly amazing compared to Halo 3 online if it wasnt for that little head start Halo 3 had, Im sure it would have been up there in the running for Game of the Year.

I brought halo 3 the day it came out and all i have to say is ---> garbage. the game sucks. Gears of War from last year is still the game to beat.
