Teacher Uses Cell Phone to Show Porn to High School Students

Alright, so we don't have much info on this one yet, but we couldn't resist bringing this story to your attention. A substitute teacher in Bixby, OK is accused of using a very unusual teaching aid when subbing in for a class of 14- and 15-year-olds. According to a number of the students, the unnamed teacher took out his cell phone and showed them pornography on it.
It's unknown just what sort of porn it was, or where it came from -- these are the sorts of details you can't really expect a local news channel to pursue, apparently. There's no word from the substitute teacher himself, who is no longer working for the school and has directed all contact to his lawyer. A smart move that, much smarter than bringing porn to school and showing it to minors!
Well, at least he didn't serve it up at a news conference.

I agree with you Chuck Barlow and Shawn, I would make a good bet you are not a parent. You and your mindset are actually the catalyst that is continuing the further downfall of our children's future.

Chuck Barlow says:
Children are being desencitized to immorality, between rap/rock music, video games, pedaphiles, broken homes, homosexual agendas, and now the epidemic of teachers and their sex scandals what chance does a child have now, God is not going to allow this to go on much longer!
Chuck, it's hilarious that you use religion here. What about the pedophiles in the church? You know...the priests that sexually abuse altar boys. There's been several instances of that happening in the last few years. Maybe God will take care of them too?

Teachers are not thoroughly checked out like they should be. ...but they should fire his A.. He shouldn't have a degree to teach. Where do these substitutes get off thinking that they can put all this garbage into kids' minds?

we need to be able to teach all of the teachers who show porn to children like this a real good lesson.what ever they are doing in the porn do it to them.
marieDec 11th 2007 10:29PM
the reason I say that is they are sick and only want to hurt children. so why not hurt them.

Same, exact entry was sent at around 8:00pm and around 11:00pm. Both were deleted for no reason. Nothing offensive. Nothing unethical. The only complaint may be that this is pro-teacher and pro-education. Erase it again and I can guarantee a LAWSUIT! I’m just itching to sue anyone who is victimizing teachers… We deserve better! Everybody is so ready to defend “innocent students.” What about innocent teachers?
Mrs. Cares says:
Could people please stop stereotyping teachers, based on the actions of the few pedophiles and idiots who find their way into the system?
This embarrassingly unconfirmed report isn't even about a real teacher. Substitutes aren't required to have ANY training to work with children. All they need is a clean, criminal record and a college degree. Substitutes are NOT always licensed to teach. If this guy was stupid enough to show his students something pornographic, he was probably a 22 year-old who hangs out with just slighly-younger High School students in his free time. Sadly, these types want to be thought of as "cool." There aren't many, and we weed them out quickly.
There are hundreds and thousands of licensed teachers who are honest, ethical people, with excellent judgement as well as advanced college degrees in their chosen fields. Teacher are highly-educated, big-hearted people, who are paid a ridiculously low salary to care for and nurture your children.
Nobody reports on how I cry myself to sleep sometimes because I have students who are neglected, unloved, verbally abused, physically abused, and generally destroyed by their very own parents. We counsel these students, report their problems to the extremely overloaded social services or law-enforcement agencies, ache with our students when they are removed from their own homes, and scream in frustration when they are not, but should be.
There are deviants in every walk of life. Because teachers hold such a huge position of trust in the community, the few who abuse this trust are exposed in every form of media.
Please remember that almost all teachers are good people who have taken on the extremely challenging job of trying to educate students who often don't have the basic necessities of food, shelter, and love. Instead of focusing on the crimes of the tiniest portion of our educational community, perhaps you could take a moment to thank a teacher.
We rarely hear any acknowledgement of the good that we do each and every day. We care about our subject areas. We care about our students and pursue all legal and ethical options to protect them from anyone we suspect is harming them.
Report this, AOL!

connieDec 12th 2007 4:03PM
ok really. is there any proof other then the students saying he did this. i have been around young teenagers enough to know that they will say anything. either because they think it's funny or maybe the teacher did something to piss them off.
sekharDec 13th 2007 12:07AM
this very sad

Hell is for people like Ronald Glendon! I would hate to think what this world would be like without the churches and Christians who try to keep our society from going to hell in a handbasket! Three cheers for Shawn!

TO SHAWN: AMEN, well said, exactly to the point, and too bad there aren't more parents out there heeding that good advice! Finally a voice of reason!!!! : )

I think if he showed hot porn to a few cute girls, it's ok. I think girls should see it now before they start dating a guy who looks at porn all the time, and then they will be shocked about it. Better early then later.
boredwellDec 14th 2007 4:33PM
14 & 15yo kids can find porn on-line themselves. However, this "teacher" committed a consciously OBSCENE and PREMEDITATED act. He needs to change more than his profession!
JuliaDec 19th 2007 2:52PM
Damn liberals. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people? High school seniors, MAYBE I could understand, but 14-15 year olds? This is right up there with the Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy. Great role models we have now today.
