AT&T Recalling Some BlackJacks
Customer support technicians at Samsung and AT&T have received a service advisory informing them of a faulty antenna design that's resulting in some BlackJack handsets dropping calls or just not getting any signal in the first place. However, it seems the companies haven't actually contacted the customers who paid for the things. Luckily, Engadget received a copy of the advisory and is making the details known for all to see. The under-the-table recall affects BlackJack phones produced between November of 2006 and February of 2007, which will include any phones bought by trend-setting early-adopters when the super-slim smart phone first came out. To check whether yours fits in this range, take a peek under the battery for a sticker with dates: If they match the aforementioned time frame, and if you've been receiving a poorer signal than you might expect, you might need to call customer support and get a little warranty repair action.
This comes just a few weeks after glitches were reported in T-Mobile's new Sidekick Slide that forced the company to stop sales of the device. Just last week, T-Mobile extended an offer to affected customers of a free upgrade to a Sidekick LX.

I had to talk on my phone outside. They do not know how to talk to people on the phone.

I see a lot of people complaining about customer service being handled by people in other countries. This is a direct result of how we vote in America. We need to research before we check either yes or no on a ballot. The reason you are speaking to someone in India who says his name is John Wayne is simply because America voted (much the same way we voted for taylor Hicks to win American Idol), and the door was open for the powers that be in this country to ship customer service (your jobs) over seas. One unemployed America who made $35000 per year buys 15 people in India who will work for less than $2000 per year. So we can not fault AT&T alone for the crappy customer service.
We can fault AT&T for trying to control 85% of the telecommunication market here in America. They are playing the big fish that gobbled up the litte fish. Again, how we vote. America has the power to stop such mergers, but most people refuse to read what they sign.

At&t is really good. I've had them for over 2 years now and love them. I hear the complaints about the foriegn call centers.....guess what? all us cell companies are going to that so chances are you will be getting a person who speaks english as a second language. Do the math before you get a phone and you'll be fine. For every 1 problem a person has with at&t there are 500 who've had no problems. Thats why they have the most customers and the lowest "churn" rate. Thats why I got 'em. 65 million+ customers can't be wrong.

How did this blog go from a recall to bashing cell phone companies? If I read the artical correctly it was a PHONE that was recalled, not cell phone company making mistakes. Everyone has their own personal preferences on cell phone companies. I hated the way I was treated by Sprint, went to AT&T, then it was Cingular and now AT&T again. So? Yes I have had problems; however, if you call in and actually talk to someone instead of flying off the handle and screaming at the rep on the other end, things might actually be fixed for you. I work in customer service so please don't pull the "I'm not like that." I can tell you are like that just from your blogs and attacks on others comments.

I know for a fact ATT shuts down towers in the smaller population/market areas . After around 6pm and on, my signal at my home goes to almost and sometimes all the way to NOTHING !. They are turning off towers to 'save costs' with no regard to the poor service results to their clients. I have looked into to the beginnings of a class action suit and I WILL be following through !!!!!!
