Lying Male Intern Busted in a Dress on Facebook

Some people will just never learn. If you're gonna call out of work to attend a party, try not to post pictures of it the next day online.
Kevin Colvin, an intern at Anglo Irish Bank, told his boss, Paul Davis, that because of a family emergency he had to return to New York City. Instead, Colvin was apparently partying in Worcester, Massachusetts. One of the hedonistic intern's co-workers found this freshly posted picture on his Facebook page and Colvin was busted.
The best part is, not only was Colvin busted for lying, but he was busted for lying while dressed in a skirt, or a Peter Pan outfit (we can't tell). No, actually, the best part is that Kevin's boss replied to the original "family emergency" e-mail by blind-CC-ing all his other employees! (No word on whether Colvin lost his job or not, but it just goes to show you how careful you need to be on Facebook these days.)
Kevin, gold and green are just not your colors -- you look a little sickly.

We all believed that was Tiny Tom Cruise at his "coming out party" that John Travolta gave for the two of them. Just two Queens from lala land

I wonder if the author would still be calling him "hedonistic" if he was cavorting with a Playboy Bunny?
I don't know--seems like a boss would have to PROVE that the picture was taken the night of the employee's absence from scheduled assignments.
Hello? Legal representation?

Hey, your boss just called to check on you. He wants to know if you're working or are you wasting time on the internet?

How cruel do you have to be to say, "I hope he gets fired?" You really want someone's future career to possibly be lost because he played hooky for a day? I hope I never work for such a petty tyrant.
It's silly to poll us and ask, "should he be fired?" That is a question of importance only to his employers; not to us. A more appropriate question might be, "Have you ever been caught playing hooky from work?" or "Has your employer ever found out something embarrassing about you from an online profile?"

Looks like just another day in San Francisco. Everyday is Halloween there, and many need not dress as a "fairy", to show off their true self.

Maybe his family was having an emergency costume party!

Maybe the intern is seeking a sex change. Hope he carries medical and can he get a discount, where he works?
BiffNYCNov 16th 2007 2:44PM
He is so cute! I would tinker with his bell any time.

Lying to get time off has consequences, and the employer has every rigth to take some kind of disciplinary action. But this guy has chutzpah, creativity, and more balls than most of the people who posted their snarky comments about his outfit and what they would like to see happen to him. He is obviously not ashamed of his halloween costume or he wouldn't have worn it and posted pictures. Maybe he doesn't care much about losing the internship at a stuffy, conservative bank where he may not be such a good fit anyway. Cheers for him and his 15 minutes of fame; boos to the philatines and their judgmental, self-righteous finger pointing.

I think its great. He parties . The boss gets him back. He still owes the boss bigtime. Its life at lts best. Also to all who said they have never lied to get out of something I have one word. Liar!
DiannaNov 16th 2007 3:14PM
It is possible that he requested the time off and the "BOSS" just
did not give him the day, or the time of day. He may have decided
that this was his other option. I would guess that some of us have
had a boss or two like that. The "BOSS" (such as he is)did CC the
picture to all the other employees. Is the "Boss" in the same
category as the "employee"? (JERK!!!!)

The last place for a liar to work is in a bank.
MikeNov 16th 2007 3:26PM
I bet the boss has lied before too!
MikeNov 16th 2007 3:25PM
I bet the boss has lied too only he didn't have pics posted. That's why hes the boss.
PatNov 16th 2007 3:34PM
First, if they don't know exactly when this picture was taken, it should be no concern to his employer.
Second, unfortunately once it posted on the internet, I do believe is "fair game." I am not positive about that nor am I saying it's right that it was passed around his work place, but I see no lawsuit in such action.
One more thing, if Kevin is comfortable in any color, who are we to say otherwise?
DebAnnNov 16th 2007 3:34PM
I can't say that he should be fired for lying (c'mon, most people have fibbed to get a day of R&R from work at times)... but I'm not sure I'd want someone that STUPID to be working for me.
