I used to wash pets at a vet when I was younger, and people's animals are just as scared there with a stranger washing them as they are in that machine, believe me.
Just because the owners are not back there seeing it doesn't mean the animals aren't having panic attacks. All the new smells, other pets around them, loud noises, a stranger touching them.....your pets DO NOT enjoy the suds-up at your local parlor at all. Really.
This machine would be a godsend. I find it exceedingly important to dry them with towels quite a bit while they are still inside the bag. Simply by pressing the towel against them while holding them does some comforting. We also use the mesh bag on the rare occasion when we need to pop a pill or squeeze liquid down his throat.
