95-Year-Old Granny Blogger Reminisces For All to See
Many bloggers like to think of themselves as young and hip and trendy (even though many of them are rapidly approaching middle-age and pre-geezer status).
One blogger, though, isn't fooling anybody, and isn't even trying. She proudly flaunts her white hair while regaling visitors with tales of the Spanish Civil War during the late 1930s -- which she lived through. That's right, blogger Amelia Lopez is 95-years-old, and her unique perspective on things has earned her blog approximately 60,000 readers worldwide.
Amelia says that one of her "very stingy" grandsons gave her a blog for her birthday one year. Once she figured out what a blog was, Lopez started posting and, well, the rest is history -- which, of course, is one of the main subjects of her blog posts.
Even so, this granny blogger also takes time to do some social criticism, such as musings on today's men: "Young men were different back then. They brought us flowers, gardenias, violets, chocolates. Not like the foul-mouthed bunch today."
Lopez may be three-times older than your average blogger, but she's certainly no less opinionated.

Gloria,
A blog is just an online journal. It's short for web log.

Jeffrey says:
How did she live through something that happened in 1910 when she wasn't born until 1912? Do the math.
I don't know what you're referring to in 1910 but the Spanish Civil War began around 1936 ... just like she remembers. Not only do you need to check your math but you better go back to history 101.. You just made a fool of yourself in cyber space. ignorant simply ingnorant

I'm absolutely amazed at the ignorance of some people: Example--Asking for a date and wondering if she has money, they saying she is a hottie. Then some jerk mentioned her nationality. In case you out there don't know it, we are all Americans regardless of our last name. Just because I have an Irish name doesn't make me an enemy or a low down. Did these people ever hear of white trash? I have a recognize it very quickly.
Shame on you! Don't disgrace your mother and father and for that matter don't disgrace God with your comments. Yes, you will pay!

When did all the hate and foul language become so commonplace? How did the 5th commandment become so trampled? (respect your father and mother = respect your elders)I'm a geriatric nurse. I love to hear stories from my residents. I miss my folks so much. My dad was born in l911, he had a 4 year old brother who was killed by the ice man's horse and buggy. Look how much has changed since the beginning of the 20th and 21st centuries! Maybe we were better off in a more genteel time when we were able to treat people with more respect and we respected ourselves, instead of rolling in the muck.

You youngsters may be good at computers, but learn to read. She said Spanish Civil War, NOT Mexican Revolution.
Sorry I'm only 74 so I don't remember it, but I do know my history and I can read!!
